  • How can you fold AT87 with a nut flush draw here? You are in for 45 and it is another 305 to call. We can assume your other opponents will call. (the 350 is less than half pot and in most places does not reopen the betting). If that is the case, the pot will be roughly 1400 and you pay 305. You only need 217% equity to call. Even if someone has AAxy, you should be getting that kind of equity and in a whole lot of cases, your equity will probably be more like 27%. Any remaining dead money I forgot to include just makes the case for calling stronger, especially if one of them has KKxy and the other one does not have AAxy, which in a game full of loons is a fairly likely. scenario due to card removal and the fact that your Ace cuts the number of available AAxy hands in half. It is also very likely that the disadvantages of playing this hand vs AAxy are most profound when heads up. But with 4 way action, your connectivity and flush draws almost guarantee that your equity will be over 21% Now I realize that calculation is very tough at the table, but you know the pot odds are better than 3:1 and you know that this hand is above average and will usually have over 25% equity, so calling should be automatic even if you don't know the precise numbers. As for the wrongly awarded pot....Nobody listens to me when I say that there are millions of reasons why all poker should be dealt on electronic tables. The number of bad rulings, misdeals, misread hands and so on would go down by 90%. Meanwhile the rake can be reduced due to lower overhead and the out of control tipping that drains thousands from the poker economy will disappear. Aside from a place like Vegas, the funds for poker players are finite-ish. (And even local rooms in Vegas are getting beat up. Boulder Station has far fewer games than even a year ago thanks to rake increases and some other issues) As the fish bust and the players simply get better, the games themselves can and do die in markets that mostly cater to regulars. High rakes and tokes are bad for all players and electronic table can cut these by at least 50%. Eliminating dealer errors and misdeals and speeding up the games are additional bonuses.
  • "don't record me, I am at a job site right now!" had me dying hahaha
  • It is actually an advantage to be short stacked. You get to see all 5 cards more often all-in while others fight each other off in the side pot.

Anthony, can your recommend a good place in Austin to go play PLO?? The card houses here in SA don't really offer PLO. It's mostly all Holdem. TIA
