Geocaching for Beginners - Episode 4 - Different types of GEOCACHES (#GCNW)

Published 2020-05-08
There are up to 17 types of active Geocaches for you to find, however as beginners you will need to concentrate on the top 3, Traditional (Green) Multi (Orange) & Puzzle (Blue). Go out and find a few of these, and you will soon start to really enjoy this wonderful hobby. Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions regarding Geocaching.

Feel free to follow to find out more on What is Geocaching? & Geocaching near me. I chat all things relating to the Geocaching app, geocaching.com , the Geocaching Map, Geocache containers. I let you know the Geocaching definition. I'll bring up all the different Geocaching Merit Badges, and touch on the Geocaching toolbox.

#Geocaching is also known as a #Geocache or #Cache it can also be called #Caching or just plain old #TreasureHunting

  • Ah yes, I remember the days (albeit brief) when I was a basic member. I think I lasted a month before upgrading to premium. So worth the investment! Another great video that explains some of the basics. Thanks SMS 👍

I was a basic member for about 3 1/2 months before upgrading to premium. Originally, I never even thought about doing it. Until I realised that I had found every traditional cache in my town (that was obviously a 2 difficulty/2 terrain or below.) I definitely don’t regret it, and most of my favourite caches are premium only. If I hadn’t upgraded to premium, I would have never found as many caches as I have found today. I would also be absaloutely terrible at geocaching. I would probably DNF every 2nd cache I attempt 😂😂😂 Upgrade to premium guys. It makes geocaching so much easier and efficient.

Great channel, love your tutorial here, Thanks for sharing and I would have to say my favourite cache is a toss up brtween a puzzle and a Multi , Ghosty7
  • @Odisher7
I discovered about geocaching recently, and tried it out and eventually bought membership. Honestly, I can see why you can only see up to rating 2 for free. If I had tried the 2 latest geocaches i tried, which were high difficulty, before paying, i would have abandoned the whole thing in frustration xd. With this it forces you to first try with the easier ones, and if you like it, you can pay for more. By the time you may get frustrated, you already paid
  • Great geocaching channel, love your tutorial here, really great for anyone wanting to get into caching! Thanks for sharing 😎👍
  • @PoppysPrints
Puzzle caches are my favorite. Thanks for the great YouTube series
  • My boyfriend and I discovered the app by chance on the App Store and decided to give it a go, not knowing what to expect. Without realizing we spent two hours looking for caches and needless to say we are definitely newbie geocachers now! 👏👏 such a nice activity !! You earned a new subscriber. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪😀
  • I'm a basic member. But I just log on to the geocaching website and I can see all the geocaches and I can do all of them
  • My absolute favourite caches are Earth Caches then Wherigo, Letterboxes and Virtuals. That was insightful video especially relating the the app being so limited for basic members. I don't think I lasted too long as a basic member either, roughly 4 months.
  • @Marz2598
Oooo I didn’t know that! My bf & I just started yesterday (found three) we are hoping to upgrade premium before we go camping :3 but before hand we want to see if this is something we want to continue and invest in! These videos are so helpful!
  • I like that you used a map of engadine truly an Australian icon where figures such as scomo have left their mark
  • @halemeister
Another nice and informative video, Seemyshell!
  • @ausfox8794
WOW all new to me. I never realised Basic accounts were so limited.
  • @fabecrewosm4818
Basic member. You can log premium caches on the website but not on the app.
  • @ankez
After two days as a basic member we upgraded to premium. Virtuals are my favourite!
  • @Komikino
I think it would be great if you could show different apps and maybe their advantage over other apps. When I look at my Geocaching map to see what I need to find next, I usually skip over puzzle/mystery caches. It's funny because I actually have some mystery/puzzle caches. LOL!
  • @matyasvyhnalek
Great explaination of the type of caches for beginners. Also I'm just wondering, are we allowed to go Geocaching in NSW at the moment. I thought we were but some people say we aren't. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
  • @TheCuriousKiwis
WOW I forgot how basic the basic membership is! I think we went straight to premium
