Rugged Ridge could not give me a torque spec for the bolts. UGH.. come on RR.. anyway, I ended up torqueing the shackle bolts to 55ft lbs. This is not factory recommendation, but I could not find out what that was. I came up with 55 from my own research. If you find something better, let us all know!! Thx :)

Your videos are the bomb!! I'm a woman & I've heard repeatedly that fixing my Wrangler isn't worth it bcuz I drove my baby Rusty really hard & broke my leaf spring & watching your video just shows me what mama always taught me. Where there's a will there's a way. So thank you.
  • @trevorjenglish
Literally was just wanting to replace my leaf springs and couldn’t find a video from you about it. Incredible timing and great video!

I'm late for class here, but I have always found leaving PB Blaster to soak overnight on nuts/bolts will save me teaching new cuss words to the neighborhood kids.
  • @bluewookie41
When a bolt finally flies out like that I recommend executing a "Dean Scream" in celebration of your triumph.
  • @Noslime
This brings back painful memories of replacing the suspension components on my Subaru Forester. The rear passenger side I went and bought biggest Milwaukee 18 V half-inch impact I can get. No torches, no hammering. I put some PB blaster on it and it either came off or broke off. Screw hours of tedious work.

Thank you for this video. Note to anyone else attempting this. Be patient, have lots of PB Blaster, a cutting wheel, a saws all with carbide tips, a breaker bar, floor jacks, jacks stands, and did I mention, a lot of patience. I had to walk away and come back to this project several times. It was not a two hour install like the box said.

  • @JamesWestborn
I always spray paint everything black once in there. Drum, frame, etc
  • @Scott-kh4pw
Great video. This is the best Jeep tutorial on YouTube. You’ve inspired me to buy a Jeep!
  • Hey Dale. I have noticed that on a lot of different rubber bushings, that they get soft or mushy over time from having grease on them. So I often use silicone brake grease instead of bearing grease. The silicone grease doesn't soak in to the rubber. And it works excellent for repelling moisture. ..
