As someone who got to see him a lot being near Knoxville here… Couldn’t have gotten a better player /person than DK…. JJ had to have been ecstatic to get him… Feels like JJ 2.0 honestly…. People don’t think of his hops… But DK can jump!! His assist to turnover ratio was a bit misleading because Tennessee other than DK had nobody to hit outside shots … So his drive and kick wasn’t rewarded as it should have been. It’s like the basketball gods delivered DK to JJ.

Lakers needed someone thats ready to play now and he was one of the top 3 ready to contribute now in this draft.. Also his defense is much better than he gets credit for. I believe this is going to turn out great for the Lakers. I just moved them into top 4 in the West...

At 6'5" and 6'9" wingspan with a 39" vertical, even if you get beat on D, you should be able to recover like a MF. He should be able to cover most bigger guards and smaller forwards decently. He needs good trainers to teach him the defensive side of the game more as they won't lean on him on offense as much as college did.
