I like how the referees actually explain in extreme detail exactly why they are sending him off.
  • @red6743
In such a brutal sport, I find the explanation huddle for the red cards hilarious. "Mate, in case you weren't aware, kicking the opposing player in the face is not allowed and is a red card."
  • @Mercman1010
Gotta say the speed that those medics get out there is unreal. They dont wait for play to even stop.
  • @loluntilmypie
4:45 "Ah jeez ref, I know I punched him like 20 times but it's only banter"
  • @danny1ft1
Dude eats a boot and still tackles what a legend.

What I appreciate the most about rugby is the interactions between ref and players. No cussing, no angry players screaming at refs or horsefuckery and feinting injuries, just respect. When someone is down, they are down for a reason, and the resulting punishment is accepted with no grudges or foul behavior. Totally different to soccer.

That dude just punching the floored guy repeatedly?! That's not a red card, that's a prison sentence?!
  • @aestos8673
I really appreciate that the ref explains the reason and the players understand and accept it. Really wish this was how the NFL handled things.

Being an American that has never really watched rugby I love how civilized everyone is while they are kicking out player
  • @cass8586
we all love how tough rugby is but no one should suffer for the rest of their life because of head injuries. glad these were called
  • @mickvisser8188
I love how a guy just kicked another guy in the face and it says: "potential foul play"

I appreciate how much the game has changed now. 0 tolerance for dirty and overly aggressive plays. When I was 16 playing for HK National Team, we went to Dubai and played against their National team. They were so dirty and the ref (a local Dubai ref) did not give out a single yellow or red card. The players scratched, punched, kicked, late hit.. It was horrible. My friend broke his leg in that game from a random late late tackle from nowhere. It made me question the sport. How can THIS be Rugby?! Our coaches sent the game footage to the IRB (now called World Rugby). They banned like 4 players from their team, and also found out they had a few overaged players (that explained why they were so much bigger than us and had beards). We had the chance for a rematch... And we won. One of the most memorable Rugby experience I have. I love the Rugby. Also nice video haha
  • @Lallemanden
Damn, in such a brutal sport the players are so down to earth the most of the times, the referee tell them specifically how the fucked up and when they fucked up, gives them a red card and they just go. Love that

As my grandad always told me. ‘Football is a gentleman’s game played by hooligans and rugby is a hooligans game played by gentlemen.’ He was a rugby player for 40 years, even playing against idi amin in Ghana back in the 70’s (after the coal mines ran out in wales he moved to Africa to join in the gold mining operations). Rest in peace old man.
  • Medical response times appear to be amazingly quick. I thought the UFC medics were fast into the action but these rugby docs/medics are exceedingly quick to respond. Impressive.
  • Big hits are dangerous but those sweeping leg hits when they're in the air is just scary to watch
  • @dabu8701
remember watching that sharks vs highlanders match live when the Willie Le Roux tackle occurred. .thought his career was finished trough injury, very tough to watch. Around 2014 i think so still hew was still in his prime
  • One of my most sobering experiences was a visit to a spinal unit. The number of young men there with long term and in most cases permanent disablement caused on the field was really distressing. This was in the days before the ‘head high’ rule and where deliberate collapsing of scrums was commonplace. Too late for those guys, but thankfully things changed, despite the whining about the game ‘going soft’. Now when I see deliberate hits by some feckless idiot with more testosterone than brains, I want more than a red card. A life ban and a GBH charge is more the order. I don’t give a toss about a lost career or a weakened team. There should be zero tolerance. Kudos to the refs for doing their bit on this one. If you have doubts, go to a spinal unit one day and have a chat with an 18 year old coming to grips with being in a wheel chair for the rest of their days.

As a normal Football fan its insane to see how much respect the players have for the ref, nearly nobody is arguing with ref!
