My favourite parts of that article is when he admits that he was still recently "tricked" into talking to someone underage and the fact that his brother hasn't spoken to him in several years. Love that for him. In the past year I had to make the decision to go as low contact with my sister as possible for my own wellbeing and it's still a really difficult decision to maintain as part of me hopes she'll change but she won't. I cannot believe that he admitted that so casually.

Preying on kids isn't a mistake. Whatever your feelings on cancel culture or forgiveness, that sort of thing shouldn't be let go. If we let James get his power and influence back, we are setting him up to abuse that power again. More people could be victimized - and that's a great reason not to forgive predators.

It's far easier for a child audience to overlook your flaws and support you unconditionally. James can't have his adult followers because they all understand what he did. So he goes to Jojo and Brent, natch.

The way the article is written, it really felt like the writer was forced by whatever company/entity was paid by the PR team to write something positive about James, but they made sure to leave in some points that are technically not negative, but still critical of him

Brent seems universally to be a joke to anyone north of 10 years of age, so he has nothing to lose by partnering with JC given they are both creeps preying for the attention of children of oblivious or overworked parents. Come to think of it, Nikkie Tutorials recently uploaded a video in which she "casually" gives a shout-out to James Charles makeup products. I thought, "Oh no, you're part of his redemption campaign, too, aren't you?" That got me to unsubscribe from her, and a fair number of people in the comments said the same. I think Nikkie's viewer base skews a bit older and wiser than those of Brent Rivera and Jojo Siwa, so more of them recognized the problem with promoting James Charles. Incidentally, I had a coworker who went to high school with James and she said he was a self-absorbed jerk as early as sixth grade.
