MONKS are one of the most CONTROVERSIAL CLASSES in D&D and BG3. Monks are praised in early game with how much damage they can deal due to the use of KI POINTS. But in higher levels, they tend to become stale. So we paired DND and BG3 MONK against each other to see WHICH VERSION OF THE MONK IS BETTER? Which MONK BUILD will hit their FURRY OF BLOWS first? And does BALDUR'S GATE 3 FIX MONK?

Ive been having alot of fun with monk. Running across the battle field like Vegata, screaming "mineminemineminemine" As I stun people in my path. Flurry of blows RNG is on my side.

Honestly, running around as a monk weilding a greatsword in baldurs gate 3 doesn't negate your ability to use flurry of blows, I've tested it

Open Hand Monks in BG3 are actually good though... even without the Tavern Brawler feat my Monk is the highest damage dealer in the party... even more so after getting those gloves from the House of Hope. I almost never miss my Flurry of Blows, or attacks in general. Im also almost always at the top of initiative and the first able to actually get into the combat.

I'm sad there is no mention of Tawern Brawler for BG3 version of the monk. That thing is so broken

Finding out Orpheus was a Way of the Four Elements Monk in the final act was....pretty disappointing.

You have to be trolling. Open Hand Monk is arguably the strongest class in BG3, and comes online earliest.
