  • Always cool seeing new generations appreciation for old tech! I recall to vividly when TI revealed this bad boy (yup, I'm old)... The 89 didn't exist at the time (which was based on a hardware revision of the TI-92 and meant to provide its features in a layout accepted in standardized tests). The closest thing that TI had produced prior to it, which they considered more a calculator than a computer, was the TI-74 BASICALC back in the 80s, which used a single-line text display. A noteworthy item is that this was an entirely new "OS" that provided CAS, which none of the Z80 based 80 series calculators offered (and still don't to this day). It is, in essence, the grandpa of the TI-Nspire CAS series. Thanks for the video!
