What makes this even more sinister is that Miquella has cast aside his ability to feel love. You encounter his Cross in the St. Trina cave mentioning this, and a nearby spirit says that this is a step too far for Miquella. Even St. Trina begs you not to let miquella ascend. Kind Miquella is not going to start an Age of Compassion but rather an Age of Control. Everyone loves him, but he loves no one.

Miquella is perhaps physically and mentally closest to Marika. Marika manipulated many people for her purpose and discarded them when they are no longer useful for her goals, Miquella doesn't seem to be very different from his mother in that sense. St. Trina, Radahn, Mohg and Malenia prove Miquella's mischief. What Miquella was doing in the Land of Shadow was practically the same as what Marika did in Lands Between.
