  • Julia, just want to let you know one grocery lifehack: take a minute to put couple of those bags of potatoes on a scale (they always have them in a produce aisle), you might found heavier bags with more potatoes in them. It also applicable to any type of bagged produce!

The fact this video is so popular speaks volumes of where we are at in 2023.

You're saving my life right now. I was living off of cup of noodles for dinner, cheap frozen burritos and a piece of toast in the morning for like 2 weeks. Thank you for this vid

As someone who averaged $120-$150 a week on groceries, this channel saved me so much money!

Im a single person living on my own for the first time learning how to budget for meals and looking for new recipes and this video was incredibly helpful. I love all the ideas and how accessible this is. Thank you.

I love that you did healthy meals as well. Most think that only can eat unhealthy on a budget, but that’s not always true. Great job.
  • My husband and I are in our 70s and get a little social security..does not go very far ...but have been eating this way for a long time...we found we got healthier with this way of eating. I also make everything from scratch and we have been growing a garden using hydroponics...I did find cumin tastes so good with beans and other foods.

Julia, I just want to really let you know that you are making such an impact on people’s lives with these videos. You taking the time to do it, plan it, film it, etc. is helping SO many people, including myself, and I (and countless others) are so unbelievably thankful for you continuing to make these. These are beyond YouTube videos, they’re lifesaving tools. I see some others on YouTube trying to do similar videos, but they either aren’t as dirt cheap as these, or they’re not as accessible as your videos, etc. Yours have an insane amount of value, and for that you’re really the only one that I follow for these. I am neurodivergent so cooking is hard and planning meals is hard for me, but the way you structure the videos, show every step, and tailor them to easy/no-stress solutions is so neurodivergent-friendly. Sort of a long comment but I just want you to know how many people truly appreciate what you do and how live-saving it is for many people who are struggling to put food on the table. Thank you!!!
  • I love your dedication to cooking frugal meals for people. Eating doesn't always need lots of money, it just needs time
  • I’m elderly now, but have been talking to our children and grandchildren about this kind of thing. Things are getting bad in these days/times, so It’s great that there are videos as such that everyone can learn from in hard times. God Bless.❤️

What really made this sweet was the changing of the messages in the back. It takes mental strength to take care of ourselves and cook when exhausted, but you made it so magically simple and easy, and the quotes really lifted me up even though it sounds cheesy. <333 thank you!!
  • @geegrant7105
Did this today in Southeast US. Only a few items were more expensive in my area, and eggs went down in price. I did have to substitute the hashbrowns with Tater Tots because of stock issues, but I am sure the breakfast dish will turn out just fine! All in all I spent $30.36 so not bad!
  • The recipe for the potato hotdog skillet reminds me a lot of the “Poor man’s Meal” from the Great Depression. I bet my kids would love that one!
  • @eunicel5964
I know that is true about the generic products. My Ex Husband used to work for Hunt Wesson Foods and one day a week everything they packaged was for the great value brand...same food, same equipment, same employees. Happy Mother's Day to you sweet lady and to all of the other moms in our YouTube family. Sending love to all of you.
  • @madison8101
Julia thank you so much. My fiancé and I just moved into our new apartment and used up the last of our groceries yesterday. Our budget is extremely tight and we frankly are struggling a bit. You are a literal life saver.
  • @MsAmyrock
Thank you Julia!! I'm making the breakfast casserole, the creamy tomato pasta, and the black bean sweet potato hash! Just bought my groceries. I needed some groceries/meals on a budget and this video helped me immensely!! I added a few veggies and fruit for snacks and my total was FAR LOWER than it's been in the past few months. I'm so happy I could cry 😂!!
  • @astridknops873
I just wanted to say, you're voice is so clear and I can understand you so well. And, I really like the little messages you place next to your cooking. Lights up my day. Thank you for making this.
  • A Game Changer for me is the frozen onion and green pepper bag at Walmart 1.00 I usually get 3 meals from 1 bag… I constantly let my onions and peppers wilt… So now I don’t worry about it 😂
  • I am so impressed with the meals you made from $25 worth of groceries. I eat a plant based diet, and my family eats a regular diet , so this video is so impressive to me. Thank you for making this!😊
