My Grandmothers Message

After the decision to major in media, I knew what I wanted to do with my life, tell powerful stories. One morning at breakfast with my grandmother, she began to tell my mother and I about her cancer journey, and how it deepened her faith. My religious beliefs are minimal, but I was moved by the rawness of her words. I asked my grandmother how she felt about sharing her journey. She explained she wanted to spread her story and inspire others. Whether you believe it was God, a higher power, the power of positive thinking, modern medicine, or a coincidence, this story is meant to hopefully inspire people. And for all those who are battling or have battled cancer or any other disease my heart goes out to you. #cancerfuckingsucks
