i like this theory. there’s plenty of glitches in her idle with the looks of pixels and like an error theme. this has to be my favorite theory about her.

Notes: Eula's name makes sense now because people see she's a Lawrence, ignore her, dismiss her as being just like her not so great family members, and have no idea her lore is actually really important to Mondstadt's history and future story :)

Something I find curious… Is how Nahida explains that fairy tales can be used as safeguards to protect stories from deletion from the Irminsul. It might be a stretch… But what if Perinheri was Peruere’s story… Made a storytale to preserve it.

imo there's one big caveat to the whole Scaramouche thing: you're assuming we're seeing things from Arle's PoV. But the very beginning of the video shows a scene where Arle isn't even there (her mother telling the story and asking Clervie to check on her), meaning at the very least that part of the story is not from her PoV, but just a recounting of the facts, meaning Scara being there is fine.

2:54 That doll clearly meant to represent Crucabena, it has angel halo and same colour scheme as her, angel halo probably represents how she fakes being a kind caring mother. Dottore has no reason to be in that tale and it doesn't look like him.

Ngl, there are so much that's going on with Arlecchino and I'm just eager to know more about her in the actual game, To think that Genshin has mode an animated shoet for Arlecchino alone makes me wish they'll do so for other characters, kind of like how they do it with HSR.

I would like to add onto the Peruere/ Perinheri/ Pers bit (because I'm getting ready for the next patch by reading up on a LOT of Freminet lore for heaps of reasons) that Pers, ironically pronounced as Père - "Father" in french, is directly linked to Freminet's favourite book, Tales of a Snow-Winged Goose. In which Penguins are directly likened to Outlanders, quite literally stating that "every penguin in the world comes from outer space, far beyond the skies." Now the interesting bit is that, according to the book, Pers was the first of the penguins to learn how to swim/ dive into the sea. Now taking this bit of information into the context you provided, what else is diving if not "descending" into the ocean? And taking this into consideration, the same section of the book also talks about the stars and sky being reflected into the water (quite like Mona explains hydromancy, also giving more points to Scara's iconic line) which is important later, as Pers re-gains his ability to fly by "diving" back into the sky - "the secret to flying is to be light" is another quote from this book. Pers in the story misunderstands it as being light-weight but we've seen Light and Darkness in action before and there's plenty of evidence to suggest both are also elements (looking at Enkanomiya). But I'm getting side-tracked. The main takeaway is that this theory holds up quite well if "Father" (Pers) was among the first to learn how to dive (Descend). Plus, Skirk mentioning that the Gnoses are dead descender remains shortly before Arlecchino lore drops is no coincidence, it's still part of the Fontaine questline, meaning we'll deal with this information one way or another. Also, Freminet is hugely important to understanding Arlecchino, he hallucinates all characters from this book (Pers when he's lonely, Princess Marcotte who is a parallel to Clervie when he's timid and The Fox and Clockwork Guardsman when he's troubled) frequently during different emotional states and also was a part of the Hearth before Arlecchino became the new King. All of the characters have a huge amount of relevance to the Hearth, and the last story in this book (which is also his "special item" unlocked at the corresponding friendship level) talks about a thief who stole and broke Death, as well as a Clockwork Mecha who is starting to forget things and wear down, wishing to die. They're both not allowed to and are cursed with immortality - it's a big big big red Khaenri'ah flag. He also has a lot of information on "Mother" in his profile, I really suggest looking into him a bit before the next update! Cheers!

Arlecchino is like the darker version of Elysia from Honkai Impact 3 Both elysia and arlecchino are errors in the samsara. Elysia gave the present Herrscher the will to choose what they want to do.

Come to think of it, Arlecchino gives me Herrscher of Corruption and Sentience vibes. Also the fact that Corruption manifests itself as a crimson red eye is also a weird parallel.

I usually agree with most of your theories, but I just want to say that the animated short is not Arlecchino's memories, they are just showing us the past, the past does not change even if Irminsul is involved. And btw I'm not saying your theory is wrong, I actually also think that Arle is not a being from Teyvat(or anything of the like)but the Scara point does not make sense.

i think she'll probably have some connection to remuria which justifies her name being more closely inspired by the latin "perurere" and, while interesting, UERE is likely just a coincidence. if time dilation were at all relevant, it'd likely be used for someone like istaroth rather than arlecchino.

It also connects to her introduction when she remembers when she first became a harbinger and scaramouche being in there is indeed very sus.
