Very much relating to Constance after reacting to the Ride the Cyclone show: "I'm so happy right now I could never come down!"

There may be a weird noise in the background of this video. Apparently my laptop's fan decided to be a dear and make roller coaster noises during the reaction, you know, to get in the mood 😒Hopefully it's not too disruptive. Apologies for that! (unless you like roller coaster noises, then you're in for a treat haha)
  • “Time eats all his children in the end” my mythology loving heart CANNOT with that reference. Kronos the god of time ate all his children, the current gods of the Greek mythology
  • „He dropped the f-bomb in the actual chorus.“ Fornication Under Consent of the King Jane just spelled it out. Kind of iconic that she doesn’t remember her past but this word somehow stuck.
  • fun fact!! a lot of people say that sugar cloud was the only dance that the kids had free will and weren't moved against their will.

Fun fact; according to a popular fan theory, Noel and Mischa waltzing together is meant to portray them holding onto each other as they fell. not canon, but a good idea nonetheless! (also ty to the dude in the replies who informed me that this concept was, in fact, just a fan theory)
  • @itszoda
Funfact: The autotune/rap part in Talia is suppose to represent the rage he feels that he never got to meet her 😁

I said this on the original video, but part of what I think makes the show genius is its setting. Being set in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere really lets it reverse a lot of the typical high school tropes. The popular mean girl isn't the rich fashionista but rather the smartest girl in town who actually has a chance of making it out, and the one who is considered "uncool" is the only one who actually loves her town and doesn't want to leave. Something else that is important to know is that the script has gone through quite a lot of changes over the years. The one in this bootleg isn't the one that's currently used (You can read about half of the current one online for free!) but in every iteration, Ocean and Constance's relationship has been the heart of the show for me

Ah if you didn’t understand what Jane meant when she said “Fornication Under Consent of the King” she basically was saying Fuck in a special way😂
  • I don't know if anyone mentioned this but Noel's Lament is actually a ballad. A ballad about him wishing he had lived a tragedy before he died. (I believe that's the reason) The ballad of Jane Doe is actually a lament. She is lamenting over not knowing who she used to be in her life.

at 6:17, that particular tune is actually supposed to be Jane falling off of the coaster instead of all of them :) Ricky also is the only one who can hear or at least acknowledges her voice, also alluding to her line in her ballad "a melody floats through the air, when silence falls does no one care" showing that nobody seemed to notice her screaming when she flew off but only noticed the group

"why does he hate her so much" made me want to comment about what I think Karnak is actually trying to do. I think that the whole show Karnak is trying to help Ocean become a better person and accept her death so she can pass onto the afterlife peacefully. She wants to vote for herself because its a unanimous vote and she wants to do everything in her power to win so he switches it up on her and makes her make the decision by herself. He is constantly playing with her to help her see that she wasn't a good person and help her recognise that. I think that's really sweet of him and makes their storyline very cute.
  • It's a little thing, but once you see it, you always see it; Jane Doe's hands. She holds them in a specific way, like a doll's hands, from start to finish. Emily Rohm absolutely nailed the "haunted doll" persona, down to the most minute detail.
  • @novim..
Idk if anyone else said this but in the end karnak says "your lucky number is 7" and right before we find out that Jane/Penny's birthday is "april 7, aries the lucky nature".

I once heard someone describe this musical as "reverse Cats" and I can't get that out of my head

"When a lioness has children, she stops making love to the lion. The lion gets jealous—sometimes so jealous he eats the children. You'd think this would upset the lioness. Far from it. They make love again like the children never existed. I find that idea terrifying"

The man playing Karnak is my friend Karl Hamilton (we went to high school together). He played the role in Chicago, New York and Seattle. (Unfortunately they didn't use him on the soundtrack.) It's a very impressive costume they had on him. Apparently, many first time viewers really thought it was a puppet.

I have a head cannon that the machine told Nole all that stuff about his funeral to give him his wish of feeling true betrayal. Also with Ricky’s song I think it’s important to be thinking about Ocean’s comments during her song when analyzing it. He probably heard a lot of similar comments or sentiments in his life, so him coming up with a world in which his genetic makeup is necessary and where he is encouraged to reproduce I think is probably a reaction to sentiments of social Darwinism and eugenics. He is seen not just as a whole person in his song but as someone important and vital.
  • There's a theory going around with how everyone is singing abt being dead in Fall Fair Suite while Jane Doe is still 'screaming', and I'd like to add on how she shows up later than the others. Basically it is thought she is the last to die/everyone was already dead and Jane Doe is still falling and screaming

32:10 When you realise the actress had a HARNESS ON that was probably a bit constricting and STILL MANAGED TO HIT THOSE NOTES!
