My personal 'Top 10' Retro Games List (in no particular order) - Streets of Rage Revenge of Shinobi Super Metroid & Metroid Prime (If you regard GameCube games as retro enough. I've recommend playing the Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Wii & Metroid Prime 1 remastered on Switch) Zelda: Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask, Wind Waker & Twilight Princess (If you regard GameCube games as retro enough, I'd recommend playing Twilight Princess on the Wii & possibly the Wind Waker HD on Wii U) Terranigma Donkey Kong Country 1, 2 & 3 (particularly 3) Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros 2 & 3, Mario 64 Banjo Kazooie Resident Evil 1, 2 & 3 (including 0, 1 remake & 4 if you regard GameCube games as retro enough) Sonic 1, 2 & 3 (and Adventure 1 & 2 If you regard Dreamcast games as retro enough) Kirby's Ghost Trap Space Station: Silicon Valley Metal Gear Solid (including 2 & 3 if you regard PS2 games as retro enough) Final Fantasy 7 (and maybe 8 & 9, particularly 9. But I've not played 8 or 9. Oh and FF Crystal Chronicles if you regard GameCube games as retro enough) Mickey Mouse's Castle of Illusion Alex Kidd in Miracle World Super Bomberman 3 (and possibly 1, 2, 4 & 5, but 4 & 5 only got released in Japan, plus 3 is the only one I've played) Command & Conquer Tales of Symphonia (If you regard GameCube games as retro enough) Kirby Air Ride (mainly for the City Trial mode in the game and if you regard GameCube games as retro enough) Super Smash Bros Melee (If you regard GameCube games as retro enough) Carmageddon 64 Animal Crossing (If you regard GameCube games as retro enough) Doom (and possibly Doom 2) Worms Tetris Mohawk Jim & Headphone Jack Southpark 64 The Sims (if you regard that as retro enough) Klonoa ( and maybe Klonoa 2 if you regard the PS2 as retro enough F-Zero GX ...and many many more that will come to my mind after writing this list. I Know there are more than 10 games in my top 10 (62), I got carried away whilst writing lol. and there are other games like Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, FF6, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, FF10, FF12, etc but I haven't played those games, so I've not added them on the list. Also I've currently started playing Metroid Fusion and am still at the beginning of the game, if I had completed it or got really far at least, then that too would have been in this list. Also I tried not putting any Handheld games in my list despite adding Tetris and despite thinking of the Gameboy version of the game and not the console versions lol. I also tried not putting many 6th gen games in this list unless the sequel from a franchise that existed before the 6th generation.
  • I played many of the games you mentioned on this list. Thanks for bringing back some good memories. Lot of fun games.

Mickey castle of illusion 8 bit is one of the first games I emulated and then I bought it on game gear

Cool retro stuff can't get enough of it

What I hate about DKC 2 is the fact that we have to collect coins in order to just save progress. Bullshizzz I say.

Cool video. And thanks for using the correct word "addictive", as "addicting" isn't even a word πŸ™‚

Love the older art style of games, so gorgeous in their own right! Am I right in saying there is a new Disney illusion game coming out soon?
  • @sentientbrew
SO much love and memory in here!! :face-red-heart-shape:

The Megadrive version of Tiger Heli is way better than the NES. Can't think of any reason to play the 8 bit version these days. Then again... I would have picked Wonder Boy 3 on the Master System over Mickey Mouse. It's the best 8 bit game period IMO.

That NES helicopter game looks like something I'd be willing to play but you forgot to say the name of it. 😞

Paradroid (C64) - Explore the decks of a spaceship, destroying or taking over the various robots that have gone rogue. Impossible Mission (C64) - There have been ports to modern systems, but this one is the original. Lemmings (Amiga) - Again, there have been ports, but this one is the original.

Super mario brothers 2 was not a failure?
  • Mario 3 came out 17 years before Mario Galaxy and would've been considered retro at that time. We are now 17 years after the release of Mario Galaxy, so I believe that it can also now be considered retro.
  • I appreciate the hard work you put into this video. I really enjoyed it. Not the list I would have chose but a great one none the less. Look forward to future content. Arcade gaming is very interesting too. Might be worth a video..πŸ€”

On Super Mario 3, I have to disagree. I ABSOLUTLEY recommend going through every world if you have the skill. Each one is very different and creative. If you use the warp whistles, you're missing out. πŸ™‚
