  • NOTE. I think part of our perception of prices 30% higher than before … is the currency exchange rate !!! - the Mexican dollar is about 10% stronger now since Jan2023, compared to USD and Canadian dollars

I am surprised at the prices compared to what you found in January... glad you found the recycling!
  • Amazing how much groceries cost. A lot of things are higher in Arizona this year and then you have to add that 39% exchange rate 😳
  • @PurpleOnThree
Would love to be able to Walk to the grocery store. Eggs in the US did not require refrigeration until somewhere around the year 2000.
  • @RobertMerz
Wow. I expected the prices to be much cheaper, but inflation has hit hard,

I'm a little surprised groceries are at, or a little higher than what we're used to in the U.S. or Canada, but the inflation doesn't surprise me as much. Groceries here also show significant inflation. Still, I'm sure it is much easier on the wallet to buy groceries than to eat out every meal. The grocery store you liked looked very nice 👍👍

Thanks for showing us your grocery experience! Do they have any Aldi's there?
  • @tatsf
Thanks for showing us grocery shopping and price comparisons! I was hoping it'd be a lot cheaper than US but not surprised. Are these big groceries where the locals also shop or mostly expats?
  • @casedoumasr656
Hello nice to see the difference in prices. The veggies should be cheaper transport cost less. Well time to eat sure enjoy your travels (Adventure)🏆🤔
  • Interesting, Lori and I budget about 150 in groceries per week. not much difference except for the weather. How's the Spanish coming?
  • @user-retsailor
I moved from New Mexico to Arizona in 2021. In New Mexico at that time, there was no recycling place within 150 miles of us which would recycle aluminum, glass OR plastic bottles. They say it isn't cost effective to do it. Basically, they can't make the money they want to do it. Greed......

I don't see a lot of people in the grocery. In third world countries, unless you are paranoid of the meat quality, people would go to the local market and which they would also buy fresh vegetables. People don't buy canned foods or imported alcoholic drinks unless they are lazy, for emergency, part of an ingredient, or ceebrating an occasion. Also, if grocery prices as well as utilities are almost the same as in US, what is the purpose of moving there?

I’m just going to live on two minute noodles and baked beans.

If you have a Mexican friend travelling with you, food prices would be much cheaper at the street vendor..
  • Can you PM me please We have a few questions about the area your staying. We are from Alberta.
