What if you ship based not on what you want, but what is presented or at least what you perceive as canon? For instance, I’d want to get with Takemi and predictably it’s for the goth aesthetic, but I don’t wanna force that onto Ren when he already had a “love at first sight” interactions that just so happens to have unique music playing and so I never wanted to get him with anything other than Ann. Of the others, the first Ryuji x Makoto one seems to fit why I find them so perfect for each other that if it doesn’t happen naturally, I’d easily see Ren and Ann playing matchmaker to get it going. After all, not only does the saying “opposites attract” have merit to it, but they are the ideal choice to iron out the other’s bumps
