The Mantovani Experience - SAMPLE FROM "LEGACY OF LOVE" - Universal Music Enterprises

"Autumn Leaves" is a much-recorded popular song. Originally it was a 1945 French song "Les feuilles mortes" (literally "The Dead Leaves") with music by Joseph Kosma and lyrics by poet Jacques Prévert. Yves Montand (with Irène Joachim) introduced "Les feuilles mortes" in 1946 in the film Les Portes de la Nuit.

  • My dad listen lots of his music. At that time he bought so many records of Mantovani and his orchestra. My dad said, his orchestra has the most rich violinist that always stands out from the back ground. We are an Oriental family, and yet my dad was so amazed with his orchestra. And now I’m 72 yrs old, yet I never heard an orchestra that is so rich in violins back ground, Montovani and his orchestra.

Simply beautiful melody, just close your eyes and see the autumn flowers fall from the tree, just as the passing of the years close the sweet dreams of our youth

Its a bliss for a heart. With such melody, I feel adrift with the wind that moves the leaves on the trees.
  • Wunderbare Musik, weckt alte schöne, aber schmerzhafte Erinnerungen. Danke für diese Erlebnis.

Montovanni surely is one of the greatest composers of beautiful sibgs for lovers that ever lived. I Had most of his great masterpieces all thur college & on thur the 60s & 70s. Artie Shaw, Roger Williams & Henry Mancinni were great musicians, composers & had great orchestras too. I still sing & play piano, guitar & tenor banjo here on the miss gulf coast from time to time but I also like these aforementioned composers tunes to relax listening to. Joe g bowen miss gulf coast
