This is the first of a 2 part series on mango tasting. We'll have part 2 out in a couple weeks. Those are ripening.

Mallika is a delicious mango, but be aware it’s supposed to be ripened off the tree. Apparently it gets a weird funk if ripened on the tree. You basically pick it at ‘ripe green’ and ripen it in your garage. I planted one in part because I figure it will be good in regards to critters and I love the flavor. Maha Chanook is also a supremely delicious mango, I think you should try it. Also be aware that Edward has a reputation as being a shy bearer, though I also love its flavor. I enjoyed the video 😀
  • Love this video. I have a fairly young Bombay mango about 4 yrs. Had some blossoms last year, but no fruit. Actually had fruits this year, not a whole lot. Most were lost through “shedding” and whatever were left were decimated by squirrels or raccoons. So disappointing. I tried to save a few by covering with mesh fruit covers, but they ate right through the covers.😢 You’re smart to harvest yours before the squirrels get them.
  • I didn’t know there were so many varieties of mango. I’m fortunate to have a neighbor share with me. I’m not sure what variety it is though. Now I’m curious. 🧐 I’ll have to ask him. I enjoyed your video. Thanks 💚
