I'm learning so much. You're the type of guy that always has a story or a bit of random wisdom to share. I'm glad I found this channel.

Good observation. Sound waves interfere constructively and destructively depending on the path difference of the sound sources, their respective frequencies and loudness, and your location. Plus your ears are one face-width apart, so each ear hears slightly different wave interferences.

Love this vid!

I remember a music teacher in middle school that said how our hearing has declined compared to people from previous generations because of how abundant noise pollution is in urban areas. People in the past were capable of hearing greater frequencies compared to now and I think after a certain age, the hearing loss makes it so that the range of sound you can perceive is much more truncated. There are headphones that can simulate surround sound but because there are only two physical channels, you can't truly experience the true depth of sound without multiple speakers. This is why audiophiles normally recommend to just sticking with stereo when using headphones because the simulation effect is just distortion.

Thank you.

Living on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, I always have my head up and look at the lakefront to one side or the park on the other as the bus takes me to work. It pains me how almost everyone else has their head down staring at their phone.

True true. Though there are earbuds that split sound automatically with this in mind, but again, who can out ear the ear!

how does all this sit with Immanuel Kant's trancendental idealism that says space and time are forms of pure representation preceding all thought?
