I remember flicking through the booklet of Take Care, looking at the writers credits - completely randomly - and I kept seeing this one name appear over and over again. The Weeknd. I was like damn, he literally credited on all my favourite songs, let me search him up and see if he has any solo material. Then I found the Trilogy. I was INSTANTLY hooked. I’d never heard anything like this before. He instantly became by favourite artist (alongside Drake, at the time - which was a huge feat I never thought possible) and I’d listen to him hours every single day. I remember literally telling my family and friends this guy is gonna be huge one day, obviously I’d never envisioned to these heights, but it was a magical experience finding someone so great with only thousands of views. It was like a dirty little secret before the world was about to find. Then songs like King Of The Fall dropped, and he started landing huge features with all the top artists - it was an amazing journey to witness.
