When I was younger, I used to use contact solution to make slime and it actually does work. You just have to mix it for a long time, and make sure your proportions are correct. But the other way is much easier.

You can make slime with contact solution you just need to add baking soda, that will create a mixture like your borax activator.

The contact lenses stuff is true, but it depends on what kind is used. The part of it that turns glue to slime is boric acid and sodium borate, it also has to have it in a high enough concentration. If the contact lens solution you use don't contain that, then yeah it wont work.. and guess what is borax? Sodium borate! :3 Think of contact lens solution as a very very very VERY weak activator... so you do need a lot. rofl. The color one... did no one take color theory in school? The end color is dependent on what color pigment has the highest concentration of well, pigment. Mostly it will turn into a brown but it can also go gray, or have a hint of any other color if that color had more of it in the mix, or a higher pigment concentration then the others.
