Alaska Cruise - First Day Aboard Nieuw Amsterdam: Chaotic Boarding & Sailaway Party in Vancouver

Published 2024-07-06
Join us as we embark on our Alaska adventure aboard Holland America's Nieuw Amsterdam! Our first day started in Vancouver, where we navigated a chaotic boarding process filled with long lines and multiple seating areas. Once on board, we explored the ship and found our cozy, albeit small, interior cabin. We did have some regrets not booking a balcony, but we were excited to start our journey nonetheless.

After settling in, we headed to the sailaway party, eager to kick off our cruise and watch out for any wildlife sightings. We ended our day with a delightful dinner in the ship's Dining Room, anticipating the incredible experiences awaiting us on this voyage.

Very interesting. We'll probably be going out of Vancouver too. Beautiful ship! Love the feeling when you set foot on the deck. Thanks for posting!

so fun!! Weird they had the clamshell bed between two tables. That would of been weird if you were eating at that table and someone was laying there. Thanks for taking us along!!

I really enjoyed your video. We've done Alaska 2x and a 3rd coming up in September on NCL. The ship is nice and the food looked good. On our first ever cruise and first to Alaska someone told us that "story" about the inside cabin...Nope never again and especially not at the front of the ship. Looked like you had a great day ๐Ÿ˜Š Thanks for sharingโœŒ๐Ÿพ

Ha - you got my sister dancing! LOL. Interesting your thoughts on the food not being an upgrade over other cruise boats. Our first cruise. We thought the food was quite good, especially the upgraded dinners.

You spend 10 minutes complaining about an Inside room, demanding a lounge space, couch, etc, when that was the cabin type YOU CHOSE! Absolutely clueless. Then you use clickbait words like โ€œchaosโ€ for embarkation, but then grudgingly admit there were tons of helpful people around to assist you. This is the first and last time I visit your channel. A YouTube channel that is 100% negative is not for me.
