The video content was very helpful and you have been really generous to share the complimentary info.
  • Great tip with naming something with "-delete" to know later that it can be removed.

Subbed! I'm just beginning to explore programming as a second career; at 44, I'm learning that basing my income on physical work is risky. Of course, everyone says "learn to code" and I get it, but I couldn't think of "what" to do with programming...? Then it hit me last night as I was reading my gazetteer: combine programming and GIS, and build apps! Because yes...I have sat and looked at maps all of my life, much like others read novels, lol. And I thought I was weird... ; ) Thank you for this channel, Katie! - Ben

  • Thanks for this. I have been using ArcMap for years…moving into ArcPro…also looking at retirement in the next few years. I appreciate the overview and what capabilities are available out there in the online NGO versions.

This has been really helpful! I've always heard about Esri and GIS data as a data analyst, but have never had a use case for it until recently. Your walk through is super clear and straightforward. Thanks for this video and all the rest :)

A very infromative video - thank you. Would be useful to know a bit more about the 'groups' under a free account, because this is one of the main limitations I understand.

  • Hey @ Katie Scheurer Thanks for the video. I have a question. Is it valid to use the maps generated by the online software for research publications?
  • Thank you for the video. I have a question about using Arc GIS Online or other options. I don't think there is a way to extract the raster elevation value onto a polygon through ArcGIS Online. Can it only be done through ArcMap and ArcPro? I appreciate your feedback.
