Subbed! I'm just beginning to explore programming as a second career; at 44, I'm learning that basing my income on physical work is risky. Of course, everyone says "learn to code" and I get it, but I couldn't think of "what" to do with programming...? Then it hit me last night as I was reading my gazetteer: combine programming and GIS, and build apps! Because yes...I have sat and looked at maps all of my life, much like others read novels, lol. Thanks for this. I have been using ArcMap for years…moving into ArcPro…also looking at retirement in the next few years. I appreciate the overview and what capabilities are available out there in the online NGO versions.

hi katie i hope you r doing good , thanks a lot for your videos , please i have a question , m still an university student (19yo) studying biology , chem,and geology in Morocco and il want to learn GIS now at home and complete some tasks online and get some money ( learning it it s more important for me ) , is it possible in this summer ? and what would you suggest me to start with , QGIS or ARCGIS

Thank you for the video. I have a question about using Arc GIS Online or other options. I don't think there is a way to extract the raster elevation value onto a polygon through ArcGIS Online. Can it only be done through ArcMap and ArcPro? I appreciate your feedback.
