I miss Zen garden where you plant just to plant, not for a boost to use in the game, simply a plant. You water it, apply fertiliser and apply pesticides. And different scenes, I remember each of them cost a fortune to unlock! Woah, and the Tree of Wisdom also. So nostalgic.

Even though I would have hated it, I support the idea of a dark ages expansion/extra stage epic quest, simply because I want to see more levels to dark ages, 20 just wonât cut it!!

I believe that originally, they planned to have gravestones in all worlds, that's why the Grave Buster is always selectable in any world, even if that world has no gravestones on it, unless it's a Last Stand level.

Iâm sad scaredy shroom never returned. He was neat, not the most powerful, or unique, but was pretty adorable Edit: welp, heâs back. Though his redesign is pretty weird. Since puff and fume, hypno, sun and magnet shroom barley changed, and scaredy looks different compared to his older model. And if course heâs a plant you have to try and unlock through non normal means. Pretty sure sea shroom is next to return, since there are videos showing his unfinished state.

Some info about a few unused plants in this video: Mini Peashooter (from what I remember) is the same as a peashooter, but for its plant food, it covers the entire lawn (that isnât already occupied) with clones of itself. Burnade has the same sprite as the Iceberg Lettuce, and mightâve been one of the most overpowered plants in the game if fully added. From what I remember, it explodes about 3 times, in a 3x3 area.

2:50 just to add to the unused scardy shroom, there were also beta versions of both puff shroom and sun shroom, basically using the pvz 1 sprites and identically the same as said game

Interestingly, the Castlehead Zombie has shown up in a couple ads over the years, most recently for a Dark Ages themed Pennyâs Pursuit where itâs just slapped onto an image with some other zombies sprites

Correction: Modern Day was not originally going to have zombies from every world like it does in the final game. That mechanic was originally intended for Time Twister, however during development Time Twister and Modern Day were merged.

Honestly when barrel zombie is added into mods he looks so weird They definitely had a different plan for him maybe in that theater section in dark ages the Chinese version has He'd be like a crazed Shakespeare guy

Those extra gravestones and minecarts could have been intended to appear in an event or pinata level, like having some of them take place in different times with those features so it wouldn't just be the egypt and modern day graves and the only minecart in the game

honestly, not making Marigold a plant you can use in levels i think was a good call since she was...pretty much useless in the 1st game especially with how late she was obtained

I think if they released a dark ages expansion they would also release expansions for the rest of the worlds that don't have expansions.

The funny thing about this is as of this comment, the Scaredy shroom isnât considered a scrapped PVZ 2 plant and was newly re-added to he game by using seed packets.
