And we're here. The last episode for 1998. Pretty interesting set of games, but honestly, I'm ready for 1999, and curious what we might get to see there. :)

  • I actually loved playing versus in future cop at a friend's house in the 90s, so was cool to see it here.

Delta Force... Great game, but it used voxels, which were awesome for outside, but I recall some levels with pyramids (I think they were pyramids) where the inside bits were extremely glitchy.

Another cool thing about Die By the Sword was the options for big head mode and low gravity. That meant you could fill a room with big, bouncing heads! A good time for everyone ^^

7:56 Funny description of the game 🤣 Thanks to feature and credits my Asghan gameplay

I think Xenocracy is said as "zin-AWW-cruh-see" -- similar to democracy. Love these vids!

Future Cop LAPD is phenomenal, I have it installed on my modern PC and also managed to port it onto miyoo mini plus - to me, it aged really really well, it's very playable still, really fun, and digging the music each and every time. Thanks for the awesome video!

Delta Force was the true first Call of Duty. It was one of the games that took over my Lan parties, and all we basically did was camp all over the huge maps trying to snipe each other. So it was just a game of who could find the little pixels that didn't fit the scenery first. So much fun.

I must admit that I do not have fond mermories of Die by the Sword. It might have been the mechanical mouse I had back then but for me it was utterly impossible to control in any fashion. Of games in the third person rpg-ish genre I'd have to say 1999's Drakan Order of the Flame was definitely more to my liking ...and Blade of Darkness from 2001 ofc!

Anyone remember the early "Ghost Recon" games? Tactical FPS games like Tom Clanys "Rogue Spear" etc, but with multiple ways to approach the missions and the squad members you recruited gained XP and levelled up and got new skills if you kept them alive. Vastly under-rated games, I thought. And nobody ever talks about them.

Thanks to Papyrus for the GPL. Far to sparsely the niche games with most passion and uncompromised dedication got to the shop shelves. From 1985 to here, it has got ever rarer..

I have gotten used to people having to spell out certain words. There's a lot of creators having to self censor to avoid being relegated to the shadow realm.
  • @fixpontt
wait which episode did cover my favourite game Baldur's Gate?
  • Even if I was totally uninterested in tactical shooters or war games back then, even I heard of Delta Force being played and appreciated by people. I'm quite curious about the story in Esoteria and will risk getting lost in there for a bit. :D Literally getting lost. Die by the Sword sounds like what I've always wanted RPG fights to be like. And, if I understand correctly, it's totally possible to make your character dance. :D Which is also what I've always wanted RPG fights to be like. :P
