I hear a lot of my moviegoer of my age and younger, dismissing The Godfather as a long and boring film. This video is my humble attempt to analyse which I consider to be the greatest movie ever made. Hope I haven’t ended up embarrassing myself.
Movie Detail:
Film: The Godfather
Director: Francis Ford Coppola

My wife and I spent what I felt was a surprising amount of time scanning for The Godfather movie reviews like this. In depth and breaking down how it was put together. We wanted something more than some 3-7 minute recap. We came across this after a few rewordings of our search. 100% what we were looking for. I'm honestly shocked there are not more solid breakdown reviews of this movie. We honestly felt, after just finishing watching The Godfather earlier tonight, that you could have made a longer video covering this movie. That's the only criticism we can give. We enjoyed this video. Good job.

also... Al Pacino's eyes during the baptism scene & the restaurant scene...
  • The godfather maintain perfect relationship between family and crime; that's why the godfather become classic

  • I love the way you critically analyse the movie not only plot wise but also technically. After watching your videos I have started appreciating a movie technically. It's good to see an Indian doing such an exhaustive reviewing of a form of art that is beyond the perceived notion of entertainment and glamour. Thank you for all the videos you made and will make. I wanted to know what according to you are The Best thriller movies of all time.

I believe getting punched by the chief of police...carried a huge significance on Michael's psyche! Sometimes...we have to grow up, all at once! Michael fresh from war...for country he loved and believed in...yet the man that delegated the protection for the populist could be corrupted!!! Meaning that Michael can only trust himself to protect his family! I never doubted him after that scene...
  • In my opinion Godfather deals with the inability of Michael to carry his family along with his business. Vito was very sucessful and Michael was no way near him. There were people who helped and expected help from Vito. But Michael only had paid criminals on his side.
  • You are a better critic than most other so called "film critics" of our country. Keep it up. You deserve much larger audience.
  • Timeless movie..............I saw it for the first time in 1998 when I was 18.......I knew it was legendary, but didn't quite get it............Just watched it the other day at age 37..........LOVE IT! Great masterpeice..........everything about it! I guess that is part of maturing and understanding the world! Great video and thumbs up! Godfather one is truly about passing the torch!
  • By far, the best analysis of The Godfather I've ever seen on the internet. Great work!
  • The summation the narrator gives at the end brought me to tears against the intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana. Thank you Vinit it was brilliant!

I hated expository writing in school. Decades later, I enjoy presentations like yours because I have some idea of the reflection and research you invested in fleshing out your thesis. I watched "The Godfather" trilogy almost two weeks ago, and I still find myself pondering it along with "The Valachi Papers" which I like even more, despite its shortcomings. Your exposition was well done.

This is by far the best and most comprehensive review of the Godfather on YouTube that I've run across. Very nicely done. :)

ok.. i love 'The Godfather'. BUT I enjoyed 'Godfather II' much more. . many of my friends also say they found Godfather II more satisfying. yet at most places i see the First movie named as greatest and barely mention of 'Godfather II".. why you think ?

This is awesome, thank you for taking the time to make another great analysis of this amazing film. Let me just say don’t forget to let your videos breath so we, as an audience, can take in the your personal analysis. Keep up the personal expression.

While there are lot of interesting points, this by far is one of your most bland analysis till date partly maybe because godfather can be eternally dissected, but the points where I am most dissapointed is where there has been negligible reference to the book without reading which godfather is somewhat incomplete viewing. Michael is not the one trying to gain trust of his family, Rather he is the ulimate hesitant hero, dragged into the family matter just for love of his father. He doesnt marry appolinia out of guilt but rather an intense love at first sight scenario beautifully explained in the book. His return to kay is not one of buisness matters but him being desperate at one last attempt to connect to his former self, his promise that he will return to being THE Michael before all the family drama. just my two cents
