I can now only imagine how we could possible see the next wave of animatronics being like the A1000 animatronics that also have the Free Roaming technology built into them. If that wouldn't be taking immersion to another level I don't know what will. Especially if they also have working AI that can interact with people with their respective personalities.

Anna’s thawing, while impressive, isn’t the first time they did this. I guarantee you that they used the same techniques to showcase the Beast turning back to his human form in the Beauty and the Beast ride. The method visually looks kind of familiar. And there’s nothing wrong with that! It’s an excellent technique to use for rides

Mixing animation with animatronics is mind blowing to me. It's amazing. The only thing that makes me concerned is the amount of tear and wear the silicone will go through from constant use. But I'm not an expert, so I bet the imagineers will deal with it.
