Urban Hymns is one of the most underrated albums of all time. This tune is me fave on that album. Having Liam Gallagher screaming in the background at the end makes it even more of a surreal tune
-
Urban Hymns was well known, but still undervalued. This is perhaps one of the best records ever made.
-
Everything in this song is perfect. The singing, the lyrics, the guitar riffs, the versatile drumming, the groovy bass
-
This song alone basically proves this band's greatness.
-
Anyone else get shivers down their spine with this?Amazing...
-
Best pure rock song ever recorded. Thank god for the 90s.
-
A lot of people don't realise the shouting in this song is in fact Liam Gallagher, what an era
-
This song totally kicks ass.
-
The hidden track at the end traumatized me as a child. I used to run away from the stereo and cover my ears when this song came on. It still freaks me out.
-
The Verve are one of the best bands ever in my opinion. Ashcroft is a musical genius, along with McCabe's haunting style and Salisbury's drumming, simply amazing. They just don't make music this good anymore.
-
Urban Hymns is one of the finest albums released in 1997.
-
masterpiece of an album
-
First time I ever heard this I was tripping my ass off on some dude's couch. I was alone in his living room and this song just engulfed the room.
That's about as close as I've ever gotten to heaven. -
When songs where written from life experiences, not internet fodder, its a tune.
-
This is one of those songs I can put on repeat and listen to it all day and not get sick of it.
-
Wow, this sounds a little like an old Zeppelin tune! I am discovering this bands greatness YEARS after they were making music.
-
These guys have definitely hit home in Kentucky. Hey!!! We might be hillbillies.......but we're SOPHISTICATED hillbillies!!!!!
-
2:39 best part of the whole album.
-
Gives me shivers. This whole album is amazing, even the B-sides and cuts that didn't make it onto the album itself
-
A TON of emotion and attitude in this song. Love it
