Theory: Ness's dad isn't actually calling him whenever he does, Ness is just so tired from not taking a break he hallucinates random objects to talk like his dad telling him to take a break.

I think the Lumine Hall scene would have looked better if Ness initially didn't look at the neon wall with everyone else, him just looking away until he realizes the wall is indeed broadcasting his thoughts. Because, as is, it's kind of awkward how he continues to think his thoughts as he sees the wall reciprocating them before his very eyes. Good thing Ness isn't actually Chugga, or else the rest of the party'd probably be seeing his thoughts about Daisy.

Man, I really love Lumine Hall. It's probably my favorite sanctuary, if only because I think the "Ness' thoughts being written on the wall" thing could be a clever way to break the silent protagonist trope. While Ness still isn't speaking, per say, we're possibly getting an insight into his thoughts. That's just my take on it.

For those interested, in part 50 of the original Earthbound Let’s Play, chugga was saving Paula from Monotoil. Obviously back then he had to work with the YouTube time limit, but still interesting.

Fun fact, if you try to advance past the Tenda village without talking to the rock directly below it, he will stop you and say "Hey, hey, talk to me!"

It is extremely rare, but you can instant kill enemies with the Monkey`s Love. I`ve seen it happen twice in one playthrough. I`d post A video response, but that would give away spoilers of unseen areas for newbies
