I literally begged my parents to spend what little money they had to take me to see this movie, and it literally was so bad we left early and my parents got mugged in the back alley behind the theater, and he killed them in cold blood. Now I protect the streets at night, suffering in silence from the plague and pain caused by this man, I am batman now and this movie killed my parents
  • That movie doesn’t exist. It was all a fever dream. There is no movie in Ba Sing Se

It's literally that avatar episode where they all went to a fire nation theater and watched their adventure get poorly & incorrectly summed up
  • Imagine making a movie so bad that literally everyone is still raging with the same incredulity a decade later.

The funniest joke in this movie is the fact that they thought they were going to make a sequel.

The worst part of the earth-bender scenes in the movie is they are prisoners but they are literally surrounded by earth. In the animated show the earth-benders were prisoners in a metal ship in the middle of the ocean!

I feel so bad for the boy who played Aang, because if you see backstage footage, HE'S EXACTLY LIKE AANG. But the director clearly made him act different, and now he's basically got no career because of a bad start that wasn't his fault

5 earthbenders here: toss a pebble 5 earthbenders in the show: obliterate tanks in one shot.

When this movie was in theatres, I begged my parents to take me to go see it. To this day I'm still apologizing to them.

Crazy how Charlie is so passionate about roasting a movie that doesn't exist.
  • This movie is attributed to one of the worst moments of my life. My siblings and I got to go to the movies very rarely. My parents took us the weekend this movie came out and I convinced everyone that we absolutely HAD to watch it because we were all Avatar fans and I just knew it would be amazing… I remember us all sitting there about 10 minutes into the movie and I was having cold sweats and an out of body experience from the embarrassment and shame I felt for screwing us all over like that. I’m not even playing. It was traumatic and I still think about it to this day.

I’m so glad this didn’t make it past the first movie, I can’t imagine how badly they would’ve butchered Toph, Azula, the Ba Sing Se arc, the Aang vs Ozai fight, and god help us, the Last Agni Kai

This movie is a testament to M Night's ego. He took an incredible show, with complex characters, vivacious storytelling, and adoring fans and went "I can fix that to make it better."

"The breath becomes energy in the body, the energy extends past the limbs and becomes fire" -Iroh episode 1. These writers didn't even watch episode 1

I remember being a young lad, it was nearly Christmas. An ad for this movie came on the tv and me and my brother having been big fans of the show got excited and told our mom we'd love to get that movie for Christmas, then our mom lit up and very giddily told us we could open one present before Christmas and brought us a wrapped up dvd with a big smile on her face. Me and my brother were super happy and watched the movie that night. We were so disappointed that it was only the first arc or whatever and let our mom know how disappointing it was. This made her kinda sad and i wish we just lied and told her it was the best movie ever :/

there is no way the firebenders could have killed all the air-nomads while needing a fire source to bend their element. A strong gust of wind would've taken out all the torches and crippled their attack, so 10 skillful airbenders could've rendered an entire army useless w/o breaking their vow of pacifism

I'll never forget seeing this in theaters and some guy shouts "SHE'S LITERALLY SWEEPING THE DIRT" when they showed a village, some lady's just outside brooming nature
  • @JackOfNone97
Not only did I adore the cartoon, but the movie was partially shot in my hometown. My brother worked as security for the set. So my disappointment in this film is extremely personal

My favourite scene is when Zuko said “It’s Zuking Time” and then Zuked all over the place truly a scene from a movie
