Crowbo, Nothing is Over! It Can't Rain all The Time!
  • I really enjoyed the discussion and this was my first time rewatching RAMBO II in quite a long while! I actually enjoyed the film more than in previous watches. It felt more raw and the action was more visceral than what I remembered. Also, Stallone does a fantastic job and you can see how his character evolved from the first film. You mentioned it in the stream, Sean, and I agree that this can easily classify as a war film. The war action is just unrelenting and superbly directed by Cosmatos. This was mentioned in the chat but I'm curious about James Cameron's original script for RAMBO II (Stallone forced the script to undergo numerous rewrites and it deviated substantially from Cameron's vision). Since ALIENS was released just a year later, with its own brand of sci-fi war action, I'm very interested to see Cameron's take on Rambo. Regardless, I still really enjoyed this film.

Great movie, still like the first one the most. Its an interesting movie though, if you think about it, how the military betrays him and just sent him so they can tell Congress that they did. Always forget that James Cameron's name is on the script.
