I felt so uncomfortable when I went to crater lake Oregon. Beautiful place but very strange feeling almost creepy

Another thing that freaks me out about many of these stories is that I've camped alone in several of them years before ever hearing about any of these cases. Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, Trinity Wilderness, Humboldt County Redwoods, Arches, Canyonlands, Los Padres / Big Sur, Badlands, Palisades, Estes, Green Mountains in Vt., and many others. Every one of them, except for the Green Mts, I did completely alone. Never knowing there were any of these types of cases that involve recurring patterns.
  • My boyfriend and I got lost in a national park last year. His family has a cabin on the land and we went for a hike. He's been there his whole life and i've been there quite a bit. We were going in circles, nobody could hear us, he shot off his gun and nobody could hear. It was really frightening especially an hour in... it was starting to get dark and we were yelling before we heard a man not 10 feet away say something, I also heard some chains (It reminded me of a dog collar and leash). We looked around and there was no one there. We were so confused. There couldn't be a person there. Even though this is a national forest, this part wasnt accessible to the public. how could someone be in the middle of the forest on private property full of dead trees be around without us noticing? There was literally no one there. It was really scary. We heard lots of weird noises we didn't quite process while we were struggling to find our way back. We followed a creek for hours until we reached a highway eventually. When we got back, we were talking about all the weird stuff that was happening while we were trying to escape the forest. I don't know what it was but it felt like the forest wanted to keep us there. We would hear people and run one way before hearing something else and being completely turned around. We are mountain kids, always have been and we were just completely empty headed of everything we knew in there. We joke that it was some portal or something just because of how off and weird life felt in there. Lol I'm not crazy, none of that was a hallucination even though it sounds nuts! 😁 his family thought we were crazy except his grandpa who has spent many times in the woods himself. You could see in his face, he had an idea what we had felt like and gone through.

Great videos. The only problem, now your voice is in my head when I go out or get lost. "Dean was last seen traveling on his lonesome as he often did..."

Thank you Rusty for bringing us these stories. I feel awful for these missing people along with their families, God bless them.

About 2-3 summers ago I was at my family’s land we camp at (we call it the pond hence it’s a big pond we camp around) beautiful place! Anyway my brother had some friends over and everyone was drinking but me I was DD ... so I was sitting about 5 feet or so on the other side of the fire from everyone else when I turned around and behind/beside me is the one trailer they have and the screen door was open and standing in the doorway was this tall black figure of a dog. It looked exactly like a dog just standing on his back legs with his arms crossed leaning on the door frame ... his ears were bent back and he had huge black eyes that I could see the reflection of the fire in. I froze just staring ... then turned back around then got up and turned to look and it was gone. It was just chilling there watching us ... I was pretty shocked so my sister came over to go in the trailer to use the washroom so I grabbed her arm and said OMFG I gotta come I just seen something so we went in and I looked around while telling her what I saw ... but it was long gone ... I got the nerve to check around outside too and nothing ... the forest surrounding is very dense so it could have easily slipped away without anyone seeing. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life! Just a note: we live in southern Ontario Canada ... this is what got me into these types of stories and finding David Paulides (and these YouTube channels) but all of them say the dogman and have pictures of some scary wolf. This wasn’t that at all. It wasn’t scary ... it was just there watching .... so what was it?

thanks for your effort guys :) this topic really needs more exposure and public attention.

At least when people vanished in that Marvel Infinity War movie, planet Earth realized it was a cosmic emergency. When people vanish in real life, nothing much changes aside from a temporary emergency level effort, and the people gone are too quickly forgotten. Thanks for keeping their memory alive!!!

I'm still waiting to hear your story about what happened on your trip to a national park. The suspense is killing me! Great vids by the way
  • I’m in NV, and my parents, brother, and sister just drove down to AZ for a “pre-Thanksgiving hike” (who tf knows) without including me, or my consent to take my 4 year old along. I usually listen to these while falling asleep but I’m wide awake, literally worried sick, and with a heavy migraine from throwing up so much. I feel so badly for all of the missing and their friends and family. Prayers 🙏🏼

Thanks Rusty, I had forgotten some of these. Carl did a great job filling in for you when you were gone, his voice is just not what we are used to. I personally prefer your voice but Carl was great too.

It's really easy to get turned around in the woods. Without any landmarks your chances drop dramatically. Luckily I was close to a road and still able to hear traffic... I actually got nervous....everything looks the same

People shouldn’t go alone out in the wilderness..or camp out at night. The parks are so vast, there lots of dangers, some that are obvious and some we have no idea about , some unexplained thing picking off people. We have another phenomena in the uk,young men being pushed into canal net work, and drowning. Some 60 bodies pulled out in last decade or more.
  • I am an hour into this and I am hooked! These stories are bazaar. So weird how many are found without shoes or disappear from the back of the line.
  • I didn't realize how much I preferred longer posts until we were gifted with length on par with certain Documentaries, while still retaining pertinence and focus with the material of each individually summarized case. As opposed to perhaps, going off on tangents in relation to theories and speculations that, while sometimes interesting or insightful, ultimately drift attention away from the facts and information that has a better chance of potentially bringing us all closer to understanding these disappearances. This process of analyzing and distributing all known logical insight with these cases and relaying it out to all of us...which then trickle along all who share and continue passing along these stories that give the ability for all supporting parties within this extended community to grow Endlessly. At least for me, that is what I have found to be the most stimulating and heartfelt motivational perseverance that endures when watching, despite time aging many of the cases into the potential of becoming forgotten. Thanks to all who've researched and continue to keep the fire burning for the people closest with those still missing. I can now start this week off with a good nutritional batch of Rusty.
  • Just a thought...or maybe there are many PORT HOLES that open up... Beautiful Inside...and they are just so curious, and walk in to them... and it closes behind them... That quick...THEIR GONE
  • I get teary-eyed when I hear cello music and coupled with missing people stories is REALLY making me teary-eyed.
  • Larguay 's remains were found two years later. She kept a journal of the events that occurred for eighteen days after she left the hiking trail to go to bathroom, and sealed it in a plastic bag. She transmitted cell messages but got no answers. She was out of area. SAD

Watching these videos, along with David Paulides' videos, has inspired me to try training a dog for search and rescue. I went to my first meeting, and I'm very interested in it.
  • @RaubElch
And here I am sitting, planing a several week long solo hiking trip into the wilderness while listening to Rusty. Sounds about right... Thanks for your work!
