Joe calling Kathleen a substitute teacher is spot on 💀😂

Joel and Ellie's chemistry really made up for the Kathleen stuff for me. Her stuff felt very "T.V like", pulled from a walking dead episode. The killing of the doctor was not only stupid, but not effective. None of us were surprised she was going to kill him the minute she started fast walking back when she got the news.

Shout out to the bearded guy in this episode as he's Tommy's voice actor in the game.

the fact u can see Joel warming up to Ellie is actually done well in the show and see Joel finally losing it at Ellie's jokes was such a great scene 😂

Kathleen looks like a McDonald’s manager. I can’t take her seriously being this intimidating villain that leads this band of hardened survivors. She’s so meek and soft spoken. She sounds like she’s about to cry everytime she talks lol

I'm really hoping we get like a 2 hour season finale or something so they have enough time to wrap it up

I honestly feel like that last scene of ellie and joel where they were cracking was unscripted and a genuine laughter from the actors but the director just kept on filming. This was a great episode of joel and ellie.

That lady in episode 4 completely pulled me out of the episode. Her tone of voice and way she spoke was just so non threatening and she's supposedly leading these hardened killers. It felt like the wrong role for what looks like a wonderful actress.

I honestly loved the scene where they're camping out in the forest the first night and Joel, instead of going to sleep after hearing her jokes and interacting with her, we start to see the shell crack as he stays up and stays guard all night. That part just really hit as a parent.

Also also, man. The dude who played "Bryan" for that short screen time, he absolutely killed his role

Kathleen took me out of it and I felt like I was watching Rose in two and a half men xD

To me, this is the first episode where I felt ellie felt like ellie from the game. And I absolutely loved it

I think HBO forgot to turn "ON" the gore in the settings.

I actually really like the small detail of Joel smiling when he told Ellie to wait in the truck when she started reading the pun book. Shows the slow build in their relationship and chemistry. And YAS the p0rn magazine made its debut that was iconic.

Im concerned that Joel does not have his backpack in this episode

All the episodes have been good for me personally. I’m glad they are giving more context to things that weren’t covered in the game. Still the best video game adaptation I’ve seen to date

I love these discussions ya'll do. They are almost, if not always about the things i'll talk to friends about as well so it helps to have points to reference from you guys to the show where things get pointed out. when it comes to the show with the looting and the guns issue that was shown, the lack of guns was annoying but it wasn't as bad to me as him leaving his backpack in the truck when in a setting like last of us it could mean life or death from medical supplies to ammo for said weapons to basic supplies since as of now from what i saw its only Ellie that has one and not him.
