The main SECRET of Perfect French Pancakes is to mix all the ingredients correctly!
Hey there, today I've got a fantastic old-school recipe for French pancakes that's sure to impress. Start by combining 8 ounces (225 grams) of all-purpose flour, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and a pinch of salt in a bowl. Make a little well in the mix, then crack in 3 eggs.
Now comes the secret: slowly add 17 fluid ounces (500 ml) of warm milk, whisking gently as you go. It's crucial to pour the milk gradually to avoid any lumps in the batter. Once half the milk's in, whisk it all together, then pour in the rest.
Next, melt 3 tablespoons of butter and add that to the batter along with a hint of vanilla. Keep whisking until everything's smooth.
When your batter's lump-free and beautiful, heat up the skillet and pour in just enough to make a thin pancake. Once it's matte on one side, flip it for another 30 seconds or so.
These pancakes are incredible for stuffing with all sorts of goodness—meat, cheese, you name it!

My Mother taught me to never crack your eggs over your other ingredients. Put in a separate bowl. That way there is no chance you will get a bad egg or eggshell in your ingredients. I am 71 so I’ve known and practiced this for a long time. Just a tip❣️

Thank you for the recipe. My late mum used to make it for us when we were kids. She made it thinner and we spread it with butter/jam/honey, rolled it up...yummy!! ❤🇲🇾

I'm French and the MOST IMPORTANT step with crêpes is to let the batter sit for an hour. There.

Lovely recipe. Here in South Africa we don't add so much sugar and no butter. A teaspoon full of baking powder makes them lighter. And a little bit of oil to the pan for frying. Then dust them with cinnamon sugar and roll up. Heavenly, and they are made especially for rainy days as a token of appreciation for the rain...

I'm French and if you want to make your crepes specials, ADD DARK RUM, about 10% of what you put in milk. The smell and aroma will make your crêpes unique. I don't recommend it for savoury crêpes, only for sweet ones. In any case, the recipe in this video is very nice. The proportions look perfect, especially the way you add the ingredients, thanks

These are what we had IN England growing up. They are usually a bit thinner though, not quite so much batter. The very best way to eat them is to (immediately after taking out pan) sprinkle flat pancake with white sugar. Then squeeze fresh lemon juice all over. Fold, or roll up. Then spread some butter on top and sprinkle with a little more sugar and lemon juice. Absolutely delicious!!! Once you eat them like this, you won’t want them any other way. Thank you for sharing your recipe. ❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
  • I love France, southern France especially but saying hello from Manhattan NYC
  • Thank you very much ! I'll try the recipe ! I love your style - the facial expressions on the eggs. ... so cute 🥚🥞👍

Il est préférable de casser chaque oeuf dans un bol avant de l'ajouter, et de laisser la pâte reposer avant de cuire les crêpes

I tried your recipe. Thanks so much they were the best pancakes ever. I like mine a bit thicker so I just added more mixture to the pan. But they were absolutely beautiful. Thanks for the recipe

Merci beaucoup. You explain very well your recipe, which is exactly what I learned over fifty years ago from my French mother. I agree with many others to always crack an egg in a separate dish. And thank you for not dragging over time your simple procedure. Others drag out at length each step in a recipe. I loose patience with this annoying procedure. I don't need to watch the peeling of a cucumber for five minutes. I wish you well with your channel.
  • Scrumptious! I could eat this everyday. I am going to try this delicious recipe. Thanks for sharing. 🙏 🫂 🕊️ 😊

Great easy recipe. Like the idea of adding the melted butter to the batter. That way there’s no oily smell in the kitchen when you fry the batter. I’m in Manchester UK!
