Tom Brier - Perryville, played by me

Published 2023-10-30
This the first hand played by me and digitally recorded performance video I made. Since it was recorded using a CASIO PX-S1000 (somewhat flawed digital piano) and a program called MidiEditor, and then played back using Embers, it's far from perfect. Considering also that I typically make a lot of mistakes (which I also had to correct so it's not too embarrassing) while recording a performance of a piece, and generally have a lot of tempo and rhythm problems, the effect of which in this case is multiplied by the number of attempts I had made to record the piece. So yeah the pedal, tempo and rhythm in a lot of sections are off to an extent (probably some of it caused by the way I recorded the performance) but generally not too bad of a performance. It's also more boring and less emotional than a normal performance, since here I'm focused on getting the right notes for the 10th time instead of enjoying playing a beautiful piece, so maybe I'll upload a different performance later. And yeah, the way I played the piece slightly differs from how it was originally written, minus the improvised embellishments.

This video was made using Embers.
