Because...Romans That's basically the story of the entirety of Western Europe.
  • Seems like the people in the city of London are just really enthusiastic role players
  • Easter egg list! I’ll add more if I see any. 0:08 on the left there is a creeper head. 0:19 if you put the playback speed on 0.25X you can see the tower of sauron.

I kind of admire the UK's continuity when it comes to traditions.

The City of London and the City of Westminster are technically both cities within London. It's confusing though, so we just forget about it and just say everything's London.

That was an amazing video. Fast, accurate and one of the few British history videos that doesn't make us sound like nuts.

Hi CGP Grey! I finally visited the City Of London today and took a picture in your honor. Thanks to you, I could recognize its borders and understand more its history (and eventually enjoy the trip even better).

Missed an interesting fact about the old "entrance" to the city which have all become place names, such as Moorgate, Ludgate, Aldgate etc
  • @MrWinklbauer
You make it seem innocuous and harmless. London City, Vatican, D.C. Where most of are problems come from.

The City of London also contains St Bartholomew's Hospital (Barts) which was founded in 1123 by Rahere.  On a pilgrimage to Rome in 1115, Rahere fell ill and a vision of St Bartholomew told him to founded a hospital.   Barts is now a specialist cancer and cardiac hospital and is the oldest hospital in the UK still on its current site.

Grey: It's a unique place in the United Kingdom with a long and complicated history! Me: So, no different than the rest of the UK then.
