This song is top 1 on this album for me .... hit me really hard....i had addiction when my girls was born and i missed first 5 years of their lives...lucky im clean now and spending all the time with my girls, school runs, evenings, weekends, school plays etc. my wife took me out of addiction and stick with me . love my girls forever

The entire album is pure genius. The fact that it ends with somebody saved me, round up the fact that this is a conceptual album from the perspective of how he actually overdosed in 2007 and died. So Slim Shady took over his life at that time and drove him to not be here today, but he overpowered him and is here today.

As someone who’s father and now myself have struggled with addiction, makes me cry everytime. I remember seeing my father passed out in the grass on a daily basis. He is sober now. He missed a lot of my life. He is sober now and he did the best he could raising me

Hence he had to kill slim shady to become a dad. Cos if he continued being slim and high on drugs, he would have missed out on all of his daughters accomplishments. Listen from track 1 to the end to really understand.

This track (& temporary) had me bawling because my name is Kaileigh & I lost my dad to his addiction - alcoholism, we would listen to so much music together, last album before I lost him was TMM LP2. When I’m gone has been one of the songs that I listen to when I need to feel close to my dad. But damn I think these two tracks reach that level of emotion too. Something about my name Kaileigh Jane rhyming with Hailie Jade and her being the same age, just a year older, the addiction, pain & loss is so familiar even if its the perspective of Em if he didn’t beat his demons. It just hits me with so much emotion. It’s so powerful hearing Em talk from that perspective as a father. I’m so grateful for these tracks.
