What are the 10 prettiest towns in the county of Hertfordshire? To determine this, I visited them all. Here's what I found out.

As a disclaimer, this list is neither a social commentary, nor a guide on which are the nicest towns to live, but purely a judgement on the aesthetics of each respective town centre.

Another great video. I grew up and went to school in Bishop's Stortford. I was somewhat surprised that Harpenden wasnt included.

I am from Hartford, Connecticut in the U.S. and planning to study abroad at the University of Hertfordshire this autumn. I always found it ironic that the I'm going from Hartford to Hertford. I was watching this video to lean more about the region and it just blew my mind to find out that my home city is actually named after the city that I'm going to be studying in. 🤯

Yeah interesting neat that you gave Hemel Hemstead a mention well done done

Totally agree with your selection. I moved to WGC from London 20yrs ago and still enjoy how pretty the town centre is. I often visit St Albans as it’s only a 15 min drive and also think it is very pretty and worthy of being placed as your No.1. 👏🏽
  • I can’t believe it! Hemel Hempstead got a mention, but yes that old High St is lovely.

Enjoyed this video. Nice to see the beautiful towns of Hertfordshire.
  • I was hoping to see Wheathampstead, place of my childhood. I lived in St Albans for a few years so that was lovely seeing it.
  • I’m really loving some of these reintroductions to quite a few happy memories. You do find some lovely locations dotted around. Thank you.
  • I feel very proud that my hometown is number one. St Albans is just so wonderful. But this video was really informative S I notice I’ve never been to the other cities, only driven past them, even though they’re so lovely!!

I used to drive up to St Albans from London to visit my ex-sister-in-law who had a Start Right shoe shop slap bang in the centre of the town. Also had excellent Sunday Lunches there too! Fond memories of that place! Great vid of Hertfordshire and stunning towns with an abundance of history worth taking a visit to.

Excellent video, and I (mostly) agree with your list! Have you considered covering Buckinghamshire? Plenty of small, pretty towns there.

I’ve lived in St Albans for 30 years, so obvs biased, but your right, it is a great place to live

Having lived bordering Rickmansworth for most of my life then moving to Hitchin, before settling just outside Ampthill, I am pleased to see that they are all deemed by yourself some of the prettiest towns in their county ❤
  • My Dad was involved in the development of WGC. It’s pleasant if a little to regimented, like Milton Keynes. St Albans is a good pick for first position.

And st Albans was my home for 23 years , loved living there

I’m shocked , shocked I tells thee , that my own town of Watford aka “Grotty Watty” didn’t make the list . Actually I’m not , as the High Street’s a craphole , although we do have some of the best parks in the country . The last film in the “cornetto trilogy” (Shaun of The Dead , Hot Fuzz & The Worlds End) was filmed in Letchworth & Welwyn , you’ll have recognised the high street straight away if you’ve seen the film
