This looks like a good candidate to try forge welding in a gas forge. I'm looking forward to trying the "pry it up, insert flux, then close it again" before trying the weld. As I said on a previous comment, I can get welds to work in coal, but the gas forge has been a challenge. Thanks for the great video!

I was just looking at some of these at the Mercer museum. I learned to make them when I was 14 or 15. Hadn’t thought about them in years. Yours look great. Excellent explanation!
