  • My son Tyler on tenor drums. I am so proud of him I am in tears
  • For those concerned about the "quality" of performance vs. DCI, you should know this routine was probably first introduced to this corps a couple weeks (if that) prior to this performance.  They are so busy traveling from one gig to another, giving so many different types of performances, they did not have the entire summer to establish a DCI type performance.  Also you should keep in mind the number of musicians is considerably less than  traditional DCI, yet their sound is incredibly balanced and pure and rivals many of the sounds coming from corps 2 or 3 times their size. Every Marine is first and foremost a rifleman.  While it is great we still have an active corps in our armed services, understand these musicians are indeed Marines.  They have been trained and continue to train to defend our country. DCI is incredible to watch and enjoy, and the discipline from these young men and women needed to put on these amazing shows is truly awesome.  Just don't underestimate what the Commandant's Own and our other Marine Corps Bands do for us, and our country, or the talent needed to be a member of these elite bands or Corps.

It's the closest thing we'll get to seeing an 'old school" Drum Corps in HD. Classic. Timeless. Marines.
  • This is why the terrorists will lose. They don't have a marching band or a drum corps. The Marines have both
  • I get tired from 10 minutes of marching. How are they able to do a half hour show! That is just simply incredible...
  • @kyrusboys
That's the cleanest thing ive ever witnessed.
  • @Djembe908
This is old school DrumCorps! And I can tell you........I simply love it!!!!!!
  • @chale1108
I can't fathom why anyone would give this a "thumbs down".
  • As an alumni of the "Commandants Own," '57-'59 I get thrills seeing MY OLD CORPS doing such a GREAT job. Time there is an experience I shall NEVER forget. SEMPER FI, Bill Marshall

That horn line is so ballsy and warm!  Reminds me of late 80's Vanguard or 96 Phantom Regiment.
  • @agogobell28
Even though the hornline is comparatively small, the sound is rich and gorgeous.
  • Very tight performance.  I don't think anyone can say their sound is not top shelf.  I like the lower fuller sound of the G Bugle line.  The Marines march the best of all the Military Branches.
  • @bradbrown6606
Can you imagine marching as a paying career?!?!  The service bands are the best gig going.
  • @tactical6453
My Highschool is among the few military style marching bands still out there and I enjoy watching this rather than the newer type where it's more dancing and story based. Well done marines!

Much much much much respect for the U.S. Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps.

I'm not a Marine, I never ended up in any of the services although I did try to enlist several times in my late teens oh 20 years ago. I have played the trumpet from 5th to 12th grade and I love hearing drum and bugle corps! I tip my hat off to these Marines for their dedicated service and sacrifices. To all of the Proud Marines who never believe in losing: Semper Fi!
