As IGN celebrates its 25th anniversary, we're updating our previous Top N64 Games list, originally written more than 21 years ago, to celebrate the N64 games that have left the biggest mark not just on our lives, but on the industry as a whole. Here are the top 10 N64 games of all time.

    Played OoT for the first time this year, on original hardware. The breadth of storytelling and game play diversity is incredible

    DK64 is underrated: had free-for-all multiplayer, go kart racing, massive maps, fun story, great boss battles !

    WWF NO MERCY or WCW Revenge. Fans still believe no wrestling game has touched that level of gameplay and it still holds up today

    Diddy Kong Racing with Adventure Mode and different vehicles (plane, hovercraft etc.) is missing. ;/

    The fact rogue squadron was on this list and Mario Kart 64 wasn't is a crying shame.

    For all the guff people give the N64, it has ARGUABLY the greatest Mario game, Zelda game, Mario Party game , Paper Mario game, WWF game, and Star Fox game of all time in it’s library. That’s pretty impressive.

    How could Mario Kart and Golden Eye not be in the top 10? Both were revolutionary games for their time!

    At a time when wrestling dominated TV ratings and PPV sales- the N64 had the greatest wrestling titles. Many flocked to Nintendo 64 just to be able to have some of the best wrestling gameplay experiences. It deserves some recognition….

    The fact that Goldeneye 007 was left off this list leaves me reeling. I’m fine with the top two, but Goldeneye was absolutely number 3, if not number 2.

    Solid list. All amazing games. 10. Conkers bad fur Day 9. Zelda Marjoras mask 8. Banjo Tooie 7. Super smash bros 6. Mario Kart 64 5. Banjo Kazooie 4. Star fox 64 3. Zelda Ocarina of Time 2. Super Mario 64 1. DK64 Runners up are def Goldeneye, Kirby 64, Mario party 2, Jet force Gemini, paper mario, Tony Hawk 2 and Pokemon snap. Happy gaming!
