This cache is simple to build, yet different enough for the cacher to enjoy. One of my more simple designs. Start with a blue bird box plans and make some simple adjustments. Please check out my channel for many more VERY unique and interesting geocaches that will challenge the most experienced cacher. All of my videos are of my caches, WVTim.

Good idea with the plastic tube in the hole, I bet alot of people would miss that when building a similar type of hide. Thanks for sharing, as always, loved it!

Found this one while geocaching in greencastle pa. We wanted a Maryland souvenir before calling it a day so we traveled to this one. Loved it and since we are still pretty new at geocaching it was our favorite find. We are planning a trip to wv to find more of your caches. Tftc!!!!!!

well done on the mechanics of it. Yes wood will be moody depending on teh weather. well done.
  • @VelcroStrip
I think I might use this mechanism for a future cache!

How is the cache built to keep it from falling to the ground?
  • @gadgetcaches
I would try to use metal. I have found that when I used wood dowels for something like this, you can build and test it a dozen times and it works fine. But, then when I place the cache in the field, I would have swelling problems. If you can, I would use metal for the perch.

Wanna start doing some gadget caches this seems simple enough if I have any questions, can I email you? I've seen a few of your gadget caches and they all seem cool. Thanks and leep them coming. If I'm ever in WV I'll def stop by some of these.

I got the idea in my head today to make an Ohio version of this cache and place it near the OH/PA line on I-90. From watching the video, and with some experience from building other caches, I was able to complete the cache in about 2 hours. The only problem I'm running into is that my 1/2" water pipe is actually 7/16" ID and it turns out that Home Depot doesn't carry 7/16" solid barstock. Would you reccomend drilling it out to 1/2" or using something else that is the right size, and also metal??
