Thank you for this video. I have a fractured foot with several pins and need to travel for work in about two weeks. I’m flying solo, have lay overs (one in Denver) both ways, so I’ve been pretty anxious about mobility. This has definitely helped give me advice that I can take action on now. Btw mine was also running, ugh. Runners are stupid. ;) hope you have had a speedy recovery! Thx again!
  • Thanks for this! I broke my foot earlier this week and am going on a cross-country flight to take a cruise next week. I was debating about taking both my knee scooter and crutches, but think I definitely will now. This video and the one about you getting around have been very helpful 🙂

Thank you for this! I'm having foot surgery on Dec. 22nd and am flying to see my family out of state for the holidays. Also I like your fuzzy sock over your cast :) And my parents still live in Ohio and King's Island is AWESOME

Thanks for the video. Even though I'm not planning to travel during my ankle fracture recovery, this was super interesting and informative. Is your ankle healed now and walking well? Did your fracture require surgery? Great video. Thanks!

What’s so crazy is that I have crutches and I need to go to Ohio for Christmas as well and I’m trying to find out what to expect right now lol
  • September 23 i was on 2 week vacation in Bali Indonesia. On the 4th evening i triple broke my left ankle. I had surgery there, they put 14 screws an a plate into my leg. The doctors gave me fit to fly business class only status. So my travelinsurrance had to pay for an upgrade. 6 days after surgery i catched my 12000 km Emirates flight to Hamburg. Everybody in Denpasar and Dubai was so kind and took grate care of me. Thanks to the bed in the airplane and strong painkillers the indonesian doctors gave me i had absolutely no pain during the flight.

Really useful video, thank you. Did you find your cast became extra tight due to swelling during the flight? Did the doctor not recommend to split the cast in your case?

I broke my ankle last Saturday and we're supposed to fly to Australia ( from California)in 2 days. We cancelled the trip. I had surgery, I'm 57 and the doctor said that blood clots are a real hazard for a long flight. The first few days I was in a drug induced fog, no appetite, super depressed, I slept a lot. No way could I have flown. I could not deal with Sydney, Australia and then a cruise to the Great Barrier Reef ( where we were supposed to snorkel). I now need to concentrate on my healing and rehab. I still have my splint on, my next dr. appt is on Friday. I hope I can casted.

I just fractured my ankle this morning at work. They just told me I’ll be in crutches and a boot. And I leave to Italy next weekend 😔😞

I'm traveling from Denver to NY in a day and a half and I ordered the wheelchair assistance online by adding to my name and ticket info that I need it .. But I'm worried about my carry on luggage being able to get it to the plane on the wheelchair since I'm allowed a carry on bag and a backpack or purse, so I have those two things plus my crutches... So you think that is going to be a problem? Do they count crutches as one carry on item?

My six year old son has a minor fracture on his ankle. We have to leave to India next week. By that time. He will be 10 days on plaster. He has to be on cast for two more weeks that’s what the doctor said. However, we need to change tickets now. It’s really expensive to change tickets. I am scared to travel with cast on. Doctor didn’t give me a proper answer
  • @ehsanmrd
