I have been a college educator for 15 years, and I am seeking to transition to data science. What scares me is, in my experience, education is lying to students. They act like memorization doesn’t matter. Deadlines don’t matter. Showing up every day doesn’t matter… the things I’m suppose to accommodate as a teacher no job will tolerate. Listening to these recruiters they want hard working, smart, motivated, and trained people… I don’t think a lot of colleges are providing that.
