Ian paise is genius, one of the best drummer in Rock History
  • I think Ritchie Blackmore should have gotten more recognition that he deserves. When you ask someone who's a great guitarist I always hear either Eddie Van Halen or Jimi Hendrix or Jimmy Page but nobody ever mentions Ritchie Blackmore and I think it's a damn shame, the man is so talented and he belongs in the top 5 guitarists of all time. Just my opinion !

No one mentions Ian Paice. He's one of the few drummers in rock who can swing.

Deep Purple was an all-star band. The top couple of musicians at every instrument. Thankful we have these videos to witness the best at the top of their game.

Totally agree that this is one of the best live performances of all time. The album "Made in Japan" is flawless.

If you’re a Purple fan, or not, this is still one of the all-time most rockin’ cuts ever!

I was fifteen in 1974 when I bought this album and I still have it to this day. I have been a fan ever since and it's hard to believe fifty years have passed already and Deep Purple made the journey though life memorable to say the least. Rock will never die.
  • Creativity, playfulness and musicality. That’s why they were in the top 1.

It doesn't matter how fast he plays, you can hear every single note that Blackmore hits and they're clean and clear.

What a time to be alive, Purple, Sabbath, Zeppelin and Queen......imagine hearing these bands all in the same decade!

Every keyboard player, of every band, in every genre, for the last 50 years owes a debt to Jon Lord. Greatest rock keyboardist of all time, bar none.

I love how Gillan just casually strolls up to the microphone, standing like he's just at the pub with his friends chatting, then delivers an incredible vocal line seemingly without even trying. Then pulls out a harmonica for good measure

I would like this to be the music played at my funeral.... it may wake me up from the dead !!!
