This song actually made me tear up. I lost my mother when I was only 10 years old. She was like my best friend in the whole wide world, and now she's gone. This video clearly shows (somewhat, just a guess) of Dominic trying to run back to his mother after the mistakes that he has made, but remembers the things he said to make his mother cry. I felt that, as I have done stupid stuff in the past, even when my mother passed. This felt like a message to everyone out here to always respect your mothers, because you never know when you need them the most.

Beautiful video. There is such a sense of urgency to leave home and do your own thing, even while you might be struggling (hence the stumbling). Then when you try to make it back home, so many things continue to get in the way whether that is distractions, people, or addictions (stampede) and it leaves your family alone watching you. Seriously amazing direction and flow for this album so far, I'm so excited to see more.

There is so much symbolism in this video- just like in the song, I keep rewatching it to understand it further. When Dominic first comes out of the desert the line how do my plans fit in with yours is playing. I believe this song has to do with his relationship with his parents as he mentions them several times throughout the song. He is asking his parents about him basically existing as a child and never being a priority in their lives as they had other “priorities” they put ahead of him. If you watch his behavior in the video he is in obvious pain and discomfort as he is doubled over in the road. He then says You're made of plastic, I'm just blood- pointing out that he wishes he didn’t have these feelings because it would be easier not to feel them as she is emotionally unavailable as he describes her as plastic. If he could be the same way life would be less miserable. When I was born, you were produced- when he was born his parents were produced as he is the first born child. He then proceeds with I wish I was a toy You say, "Hahahahahaha" And you laugh And I cry, obviously undermining his feelings and causing emotional distress. He then hears the loud horde and the camera pans to the darkness over the hill. He is able to collect himself a bit and starts to move faster towards his mom’s house as he exclaims half of his heart is in your chest- a bond he just can’t break. He says he’s not a mama’s boy but I think he is trying to convince himself of that which is what is causing all of this pain. He doesn’t want to have this connection, it would be easier to not be a mama’s boy after the pain he has been through. We can see this as he is still waddling over towards her gate he says I'd go see Italy I'd go see Tuscany If you could come with me. Almost begging her to just come with him. I believe he is using Italy and Tuscany as well as vacations symbolically for jail time or substances. He is just desperate to be with his parents at any cost. Then as we get to the “Mama’s Boy” part they ask him (Maxamillion) what you waiting up for? Why don’t you come play with us more? He says his mom (Izzybelle) likes to stay in the house which means he is going to and then they go on to tease him with the M-A-M-A-B-O-Y line because he is choosing to stay inside with his mom instead of coming out to play. At this point in the video he is kind of pacing a little waiting for her to open the gate, waiting for his mom to offer any kind of support or concern but it’s too late. The horde pummels him to the ground and takes him down as she just stands there watching emotionless. She doesn’t cry, scream, bang on the window, run out to help him, nothing. The gate opens but it’s too late. The damage has been done. It’s irreversible. I think the hoard represents his childhood trauma that constantly follows you around. It comes for you constantly causing anxiety, codependency issues and ptsd but unlike a zombie or monster you can’t kill it, it’s real 😢. For those that don’t know that is his real mom in the video and I hope I am not being disrespectful at all in my interpretation of the video. If you took the time to read this thanks and I hope Dominic keeps making amazing art both musically + visually. I know it has helped me with my childhood trauma and path to healing ♥️

Lyrics hit too close to home. Having abusive and narcissistic parents made me a people pleaser and made me want to change things about myself that didn't need fixing. Generational trauma is no joke... I wish they were raised better so I didn't have to experience their trauma too. I wish we could talk it out, even though I know that's only a fantasy.
