One of them fell to his death in Richmond - making worldwide headlines - but miraculously his companion survived an 11 hour flight with temperatures reaching -60C.Award winning film-maker, Richard Bentley, sets out to uncover who they are, how they got on the plane and why they decided to undertake such a dangerous and desperate mission. Incredible journey! I was born in Mozambique and it brings me great sadness to the fact that young Africans have to put themselves in great danger in terms of human survival while African leaders fill out their deep pockets. Thank you for creating this documentary to raise awareness about the survivor's journey in Stowe away. :hand-purple-blue-peace::hand-purple-blue-peace:
  • I cannot express my sorrow, so sad! I work as a maintenance Mx on Boeing and I can't imagine. I am glad you took the personal responsibility to investigate and give closure to his family. My God bless you for this!

What an incredible story. Makes you think about how many of us take our fortunes for granted. Thank you for sharing this.
  • Joseph was a character back at the orphanage in Johannesburg, always bringing laughter and joy to everyone around him he was the craziest guy. Glory be to God for the journey and blessings in Joseph's life and yours too my brother may God enlarge your territory and thank you for sharing this testimony. Take care. Buti

I worked with a guy who managed to sneak out of Iran, make his way to Rotterdam, swim out to a freighter, climb up the anchor chain and stow away. The crew found him half way over the Atlantic amd made contact with authorities here in Canada so he could claim asylum. Incredible story of perseverance.

That someone would spend so much time and money researching this incredibly difficult story speaks volumes of the person and his quest to get to the truth. Kudos for the great effort. Worthy of a top award.

Was very emotional with this entire episode and more over, its heartening to see your efforts to find them with great persistence without any personal benefits. Really appreciate your efforts to bring this real story in public. Cheers.

You went to the ends of the earth to discover all that you have. That is admirable. Those 2 men risked everything to become more and have more than their lifestyles afforded them. It’s amazing to see how much a person will risk to live a better life in a place they don’t know. I look around and realize I’m truly blessed to have so much, but many are not understanding and compassionate for people who just want the same things we have. Thank you for your perseverance. I pray Justin will do well and live his dream.

As a pilot, I clicked this video just to comment that no modern commercial plane that flies flies at 60,000 feet. Please, don't make us cringe.
  • Got a little teary eyed when that little girl seen her father's picture for the first time...poor girl.

Wow, this story broke my heart. How can we help Carlito's widow and child? We take so much for granted that I feel ashamed. These people are so kind and generous though they have had it so hard. Thank you for what you do and for sharing their story. I wonder if you stay in touch with Justin? It must be lonely for him since he lost his friend. ❤

These people had no idea what is like to be in a wheel of an Airplane on 40,000 ft, theres no rehearsal or any knowledge, they act on desparation and belief that as long as they are inside the Airplane they will be just fine, not knowing the wheels are not in pressurizing part of Air craft.. .
  • @Sawahoney
This story is very sad. I cried through and through. I want to say thank you to those involved in not giving up on tellig Carlito's story.

Africa, the motherland, wakes up . Mentor the youth provide resources for socioeconomic development. Presidents of African wake up for the seeds of the land, are terrified . Running away to seek opportunities from oppression and poverty puts previous lives to horrors and terrible loss of lives. Thank you, Sir, for sharing . Chilling story and awakening. God bless you, the bereaved family and friend who volunteer to share information.

It makes me angry to think that corrupt airport officials allowed the 2 young men to travel illegally on the plane. I'm from South Africa and its true what Carletos friend says that the security in SAs airport is tight. Incredible video.I hope your expenses are covered.

A more successful try was in the mid 1960s. Kenny Pastori stowed on a Pan Am flight from New York to London. He stowed in a chamber beneath the pilot’s cabin that was pressurized and warm. After landing he waited until the plane was empty and exited up through the cabin floor. He, however failed to clear customs due to a lack of a ticket! He was questioned by Scotland Yard and eventually was sent back to New York.

In a world with so much wealth, it is sad to see people losing their lives in hopes of a better life elsewhere.
