In my opinion, "El Paso" is one of the greatest songs ever written. Beautiful lyrics and phrasing by Marty that paint a vivid picture.

2024 here. Young people still love this, I'm 22 at a large public uni. You don't get this kind of storytelling anymore.
-
Holy shit. It’s 2024 I’m 65 and I’ve got tears. What a classic.
-
This song managed to condense a book that would take me a week to read and a movie that would take me two hours to watch into about five minutes of enjoyment. Absolute legend.
-
Marty Robbin’s, one of the best ballad singers of the West ever……
-
I grew up with Marty Robbins. So special to find these video clips on YouTube.

I’m a metal fan… But there is something amazing about this whole album. It tells stories in a way none of the progressive metal songs I like could. You see these stories in your head. They play like short films in your mind as you listen. I adore this kind of songwriting. No hidden meanings, no overly complex stuff. Just pure storytelling.

No autotune, nothing but his guitar and voice.

Unbelievable live performance. No tricks, no gimmicks, no "enhanced" vocals, just sheer talent. Love Marty's guitar playing and his singing is exquisite. Super trio harmonies and what else do you want?!!!!

And Rosa's Cantina still stands. I live in this West Texas Town and I love their Mexican food along with a few cold imported Mexican beers to go with it! Y'all need to come and check it out sometime!

How I miss real country music, like Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Johnny Cash, to name a few. El Paso is an amazing song, written and sung by amazing Marty Robbins. It's so sad to lose so many of the great singers of the 60's, 70's and 80's. I'm not really into today's country music; it's just the not the same. I also love "My Woman, My Woman, My Wife." It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. RIP Marty Robbins.

I have seen Marty Robbins in several recorded live videos. He never missed a note, never strained to hit it. What an incredible voice and an amazing singer. I’m a fan for life.
-
This is definitely one of the best videos on the Internet
-
Something magical about the lyrics...telling a full story...perfect rhymes all drama with no corn. This is sheer brilliance.
-
I miss the true country music that I grew up with it.

60 years later and this song still makes me cry. I can't imagine loving anyone that much.
