r/place has once again proved that anything is possible when redditors collaborate to build something creative.

Watching r/place unfold in real time was incredible, but seeing it again as a timelapse is even better. Catch up on the moments you missed while you were asleep or offline, which for some of you were few and far between.

Thank you to everyone who came, collaborated, and dropped a pixel (or a hundred). Maybe the real art was the friends we made along the way.

I’m glad to be a part of internet history by placing two pixels and then giving up.
  • Ah yes, I remember the good old times when placing a pixel was basically an act of war on a country

As a German I just want to thank our Belgian&French Bro's for having ARTE and Beer for our Eagle. Let's work together next time aswell :D
  • As a Canadian, we say "the result was irrelevant cause the effort was there"

As an anthropology nut, this is actually an incredibly valuable piece of work. There is so much revealed about human nature here. An entire book could be written about this.

I see r/place as an accurate description of the world- our world. We have millions on communities making small or large living within and together it forms a large one. The little plagues that try to destroy bits of it is like the ones who try to destroy everything, but the community members work together to rebuild or revamp their place. But even just like our world, it can turn into war
  • Reddit: we give you a really big rectangle, draw anything you want. 60% of the community: what about flags
  • Turkey: makes a masterpiece France: draws the Eiffle Tower Canada: struggles to draw the maple leaf

I am happy to witness so many people from so many different fandoms making such an artwork. It gives me peace to see how they collaborated to make this. Thanks.

  • I am proud to have fought in the 1116th French "military" victory!

This event really reminds me of the early days of Internet. So much fun and so much creativity!

I like how the "void" was a major antagonist though this whole thing, only to be beaten back by "the hand" before being swallowed by "the light".
  • the fact that that void tried so many times to take over and they never let it spread was nice
