  • My beautiful momma (RIH) was Basque/ Norwegian. She said the basque gave her the special rh negative blood type. Which she was able to donate to me after emergency surgery from giving birth. Literally my momma gave me life then saved my life! ❤️
  • The great part of Rick's shows is that he doesn't mince words for the current or past issues of the location he's visiting, yet never seems to take sides. He is truly a world traveler.

This is an excellent documentary, I really enjoyed it. As a basque myself, I love finding these videos because they introduce the Basque Country to many people. Anyone who might be considering visiting the Basque Country, you are more than welcome. You'll find fantastic gastronomy, people, places, and culture. Eskerrik asko eta agur!

As a Basque person, this was such a good documentary. It covered everything so respectfully! Eskerrik asko for such a nice little documentary, thank you :)

San Sebastián is hands down my favorite city to eat and drink around in Europe. Amazing pinxtos, seafood dinners, pastries, cider, wine, and a growing craft beer scene. Can’t wait to be back.

I am from Portugal living in Spain: The Basque country and its people deserves all my respect, consideration and admiration. A place that offers me the most joy and pleasure on each time i go there.

Greatest channel on YouTube! I’m just a blue collar worker, I’ll never go to these places. Following the adventures of Rick Steves has been a history lesson, but also a lesson on how to be an ambassador of the human soul🙏

We travelled here for our 20th wedding anniversary. It was hands down the best vacation we have ever had in Europe. Strongly recommended for the people, the food, the culture, and the landscape.
  • In Colombia, you can find a lot of similarities with the Basque Country (architecture, people, way of talking) in fact, it’s the country with more basque descendants outside the Basque Country.

I'm chilean with Basque roots. My family came here before the civil war, and they choose the city of Concepcion by the similarities with Basque country: a region known for its fishermen, miners and farmers. Agur!

One of our Sons lives in Barcelona for a 4-year assignment. He called and spoke non-stop for an Hour about going to the Basque area and how wonderful the food is. He also talked about a Region where the Men get together and Cook - and you must be invited if you want to join in the cooking. He did not get an invite, but He said the Food was unbelievably delicious and he is certain that, in his opinion, this area of Basque is where many of the world's finest restaurants get their 'ideas' for Recipes. . . it's THAT good.
  • I'm from Elko, Nevada and Basque people take up most of the population. They planted their roots there with the Western Shoshone native americans. Every summer they have the Basque festival with lots of wine music and dancing.
  • This show is so addictive! Like travelling around the world with Rick Steves!
  • I'm Basque and live in the Basque Country. I'm so glad to see people who like our little country, we've been struggling to keep our language 'alive' since Franco prohibited it because "we live in Spain, we must talk Spanish no matter what." A result that proves our efforts were worth it. Thank you all
  • Basque have preserved their own adorable language. This is one of the miracles in the history! I would learn it.
  • The Basques ahhhh the greatest Cuise of all time. The people are beautiful The Countrywide a dream. They have it all and preserve it's Beauly. Excellent documentary. Thanku Steve. 😅
  • @ZehnWaters
I'm from Idaho and we have a great many Basque in our state! Our capital, Boise, has an entire Basque street (we're not big enough for a "town").
  • I m from Bayonne, but live in the US and I miss my Basque Country so much.
  • @lordclaret5075
The Basque people have done an amazing job of preserving their culture and customs - would love to visit one day. Also, AUPA ATHLETIC!
